The draw for the 2022 World Seniors Darts Championship has been confirmed, with Phil Taylor to take on either Peter Manley or Deta Hedman at the Circus Tavern.

The over 50s tournament, which takes place from February 3-6, incorporates a top prize of £30,000 and features 11 former World Champions from both PDC and BDO codes, plus a further 11 invited players and two qualifiers.

The top eight seeds will enter the competition at the Second Round stage, awaiting the winner of an unseeded First Round tie.

The star-studded field is headed by 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor – who starts his quest to claim the inaugural World Seniors title with a clash against either former rival Manley or two-time Women’s World Master Hedman.

Taylor and Manley famously contested two PDC World Championship finals (2002 and 2006), and developed a box office rivalry in the noughties, while Hedman made her debut in the 2020/21 PDC World Championship and has also previously competed in the UK Open.

Wayne Warren, the 2020 BDO World Champion, has been drawn to face either three-time Lakeside finalist Tony O’Shea or 2004 PDC world finalist Kevin Painter.

Multiple major winner Robert Thornton will take on former World Champion Bob Anderson for the right to face ten-time Women’s World Champion Trina Gulliver MBE.

Three-time World Champion John Lowe, the oldest player in the field at 76, will face either Singapore legend Paul Lim or qualifier Dave Prins.

Three-time World Champion John Part awaits the winner of the tie between 1997 Lakeside Champion Les Wallace and 2001 Lakeside Champion John Walton.

Four-time Women’s World Champion Lisa Ashton, who dropped off the PDC circuit at the end of 2021, faces either former UK Open champion Roland Scholten or multiple major finalist Terry Jenkins.

Keith Deller, the 1983 World Champion, opens up against either 2001 World Grand Prix winner Alan Warriner-Little or 1994 World Matchplay champion Larry Butler.

Three-time BDO World Champion Martin Adams will take on either former BDO World Trophy winner Darryl Fitton or qualifier Richie Howson.
