Dom Taylor suspended from PDC Darts following failed drugs test

PDC Tour Card holder Dom Taylor has been suspended from professional darts with immediate effect after failing a drugs test.
Taylor, 26, was tested during a recent Players Championship event and returned a positive sample for a banned substance.
The Darts Regulation Authority have subsequently suspended Taylor with immediate effect pending a disciplinary hearing on a date to be confirmed.
Taylor has been withdrawn from this weekend’s Players Championship Finals and will be replaced in the draw by Nick Kenny – who will now face Michael Smith in Round One in Minehead on Friday evening.
Taylor, who claimed a PDC Challenge Tour title in 2023, came through Qualifying School in January to secure a two-year Tour Card and reached the quarter-finals of a Players Championship event last month.
The Bristol thrower has featured in a number of European Tour events this season and qualified for debut appearances in both the Players Championship Finals and World Championship as a result of his consistent floor form.
His involvement in next month’s World Championship at Ally Pally is now in severe doubt, with the draw due to take place on Monday afternoon.
