The 2026 European Darts Championship takes place in Dortmund, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.

The £750,000 ranked major features the top 32 players from the European Order of Merit, which is comprised from the prize money earned from the 15 European Tour events held over the course of the year.

This year’s European Championship will take place from October 22-25 at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund – the fifth consecutive staging at this venue.

Gian van Veen is the defending champion after he edged out Luke Humphries 11-10 in a thrilling final 12 months ago to clinch his first major title.

The Dutchman returns as the number eight seed, bidding to become only the third player to successfully retain this trophy since the event began in 2008.

Ross Smith, the 2022 European Champion, is the number one seed after picking up two European Tour titles this season, while Wessel Nijman is the number two seed, having also claimed a brace of Euro Tour titles in 2026.

World number one Luke Littler is out to complete the set of career major titles, while last year’s runner-up Humphries also bids to secure this title for the first time.

Four-time champion Michael van Gerwen looks to restore his former glories, while Rob Cross and James Wade are the other former champions in the field.

Dutch duo Kevin Doets and Niels Zonneveld will make their debuts at this year’s competition.

First round matches are to be contested over the best of 11 legs, with second round and quarter-finals best of 19 and semi-finals and the final best of 21.
