Newly promoted Luton visit Reading, while Oxford face MK Dons; elsewhere, Bradford meet Peterborough, Blackpool host Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday travel to Leyton Orient.
League Two offers its own collection of fresh starts. Rochdale, promoted via the National League play-offs, begin at Newport, while York City return to the EFL against Bristol Rovers. Oldham host Port Vale in another notable meeting, with Port Vale relegated from League One last season.
