Newly promoted Luton visit Reading, while Oxford face MK Dons; elsewhere, Bradford meet Peterborough, Blackpool host Wycombe and Sheffield Wednesday travel to Leyton Orient.
League Two offers its own collection of fresh starts. Rochdale, promoted via the National League play-offs, begin at Newport, while York City return to the EFL against Bristol Rovers. Oldham host Port Vale in another notable meeting, with Port Vale relegated from League One last season. Exeter, also relegated, travel to Grimsby, while last season’s League Two play-off finalists Salford visit Barnet.
