The race to secure places in the 2022 Betfred World Matchplay culminates with a quartet of Players Championship events in Barnsley.

Following Players Championship 18-21, which take place from July 8-11, the top 16 players from the Main Order of Merit will join the next 16 highest ranked players from the ProTour Order of Merit in the World Matchplay.

The star-studded 32-player field will battle it out for a record £800,000 prize fund at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool from July 16-24.

As it stands, Martin Schindler, Martin Lukeman and Madars Razma are in line to make their debuts in the prestigious major via the ProTour Order of Merit.

Krzysztof Ratajski and Dave Chisnall are looking to retain their places in the top 16 in order to be seeded, with Ryan Searle and Nathan Aspinall vying to overtake them.

Ross Smith occupies the 16th and final ProTour qualification place going into the decisive batch of floor events, leading Ricky Evans by virtue of the countback rule.

Adrian Lewis, the 2013 runner-up, will be looking to consolidate his place in the event, having failed to qualify last year.

Andrew Gilding is seeking a first Matchplay appearance since 2015, while Rowby-John Rodriguez’ sensational run to the European Matchplay final last weekend has moved him within £500 of the provisional qualification places.

Irish youngster Keane Barry is also vying to secure a debut at the Winter Gardens, alongside veteran campaigners Vincent van der Voort and Simon Whitlock.

Recent ProTour event winner Scott Williams is less than £3,000 adrift of the qualification places as he looks to defy the odds as a non Tour Card holder.

Players competing in Players Championships 18-21 who are not listed below can still qualify via the ProTour Order of Merit.
