WDF World Championship 2026 Draw | Ties confirmed for Lakeside showpiece
The draw for the 2026 WDF World Championship has been confirmed, with 90 players competing across four events at Lakeside.
The fifth staging of the WDF World Championship will take place from November 27 to December 6 at the historic Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, featuring a total prize fund of £223,500.
The men’s draw features the top 16 players in the WDF World Rankings seeded, headed by teenage sensation Mitchell Lawrie – who finished runner-up to Jimmy van Schie in last year’s competition.
Lawrie, 15, will begin his latest quest for Lakeside glory with a second round tie against either England’s Harry Lane or Australia’s Declan Bailey.
Former Lakeside champion Neil Duff will open up with a clash against either Lewis Gurney or former PDC Tour Card holder Ron Meulenkamp.
Fourth seed Leonard Gates awaits the winner of the first round tie between Ben Townley and Shane Sakchekapo, while second seed Jenson Walker meets either New Zealand’s Mark Cleaver or Blake Hatchett.
Ross Montgomery, the 2025 World Seniors champion, will face either Sean Fisher or former PDC Tour Card holder Jitse van der Wal, while sixth seed Matthew Edgar faces a tricky opener against either New Zealand’s Haupai Puha or Japan’s Tomoya Goto – both of whom have featured in the PDC World Championship in recent years.
Top seed Deta Hedman will begin the defence of her world title with a tie against either Cali West or Lovely-Mae Orbeta, while Scotland’s Lorraine Hyde and Japan’s Mayumi Ouchi meet in Round One for the second time in three years.
Last year’s runner-up Lerena Rietbergen faces 2024 finalist Sophie McKinlay for the right to take on 2023 runner-up Aileen De Graaf in the Last 16.
Second seed Rhian O’Sullivan will start out against either Turkey’s Emine Dursun or England’s Kim Holden.
The full schedule of play is expected to be confirmed later this week.
