Luke Humphries v Luke Littler live stream | World Grand Prix 2025 Final preview
Luke Humphries and Luke Littler will renew their enthralling rival in the final of the 2025 World Grand Prix in Leicester on Sunday.
The world’s top two ranked stars meet in a major final for the fifth time as they battle it out for the £120,000 title at the Mattioli Arena.
The box office duo have met a total of 25 times in PDC competition over the last two years, but this marks their first encounter over a double-start format.
Humphries has become only the third player in the 28-year history of the BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix to reach three consecutive finals, and is looking to become only the fourth multiple winner of this title.
The 30-year-old clinched his first major title on this stage two years ago before falling short to Mike De Decker in last year’s final.
World Masters and Premier League champion this year, Humphries has continued his prolific record in the double-start format, making light work of 2022 finalist Nathan Aspinall in the opening round, before dispatching both Krzysztof Ratajski and Cameron Menzies by 3-1 scorelines.
The world number one then made it ten consecutive wins in televised ranking semi-finals by overcoming Danny Noppert 5-3 on Saturday night.
Littler, meanwhile, has become the youngest player to reach a World Grand Prix final and has done so in only his second appearance in the competition.
The 18-year-old sensation is making his 11th appearance in a major final inside two years as a PDC Tour Card holder, having won six of his previous ten.
Littler is vying to add this title to his World Championship, UK Open and World Matchplay titles this year and seek revenge for his defeat to Humphries in the Premier League final back in May.
Victory for ‘The Nuke’ would also see him close the gap on Humphries to just over £70,000 in the race for the world number one spot.
The Warrington wonderkid atoned for last year’s early exit by defying a tournament record average of 106.47 from Gian van Veen to prevail in straight sets with a 105.6 average of his own in a match lasting little over ten minutes.
He then dismantled defending champion Mike De Decker in three unanswered sets, before sensationally recovering from two sets down and surviving three match darts to edge out Gerwyn Price in a last-leg decider thanks to a 152 checkout.
Littler then sealed his spot in the final with an emphatic 5-1 victory over 2021 champion Jonny Clayton which included checkouts of 140 and 161.
Humphries has the upper-hand in terms of the overall head-to-head record, with 15 wins to Littler’s ten, though it was the teenager who prevailed in their most recent televised final at the New Zealand Masters in August.
The final gets under way from 8pm BST and will be contested over the best of 11 sets.
