Michael van Gerwen has withdrawn from Night Three of 2026 Premier League Darts in Glasgow through illness.

Van Gerwen sits top of the BetMGM Premier League table with eight points from a possible ten, having claimed the Night One title in Newcastle before finishing runner-up in Antwerp last week.

The seven-time Premier League champion was due to face reigning World Champion Luke Littler in Thursday’s quarter-finals at the OVO Hydro, but has pulled out due to a medial issue.

Van Gerwen defeated Littler 6-4 with a 100.7 average in last week’s semi-finals, leaving the world number one outside of the top four in the early standings.

As a result of MVG’s withdrawal, Littler receives a bye through to the semi-finals to face either Jonny Clayton or last week’s winner Gerwyn Price.

Under tournament rules, Littler collects two league points and +1 leg difference, while  Van Gerwen receives no league points and -6 leg difference.
