Premier League Darts 2026 | Night Two Antwerp Preview and Order of Play
Premier League Darts heads to Belgium for the first time, as Antwerp hosts Night Two of the competition on Thursday.
A landmark occasion in the 21-year history of the sport’s elite invitational sees the roadshow touch down in the darting hotbed of Belgium, in front of a 10,000 sell-out crowd at the AFAS Dome.
The opening night of the competition saw Michael van Gerwen triumph in Newcastle last Thursday to put down an early marker, and the seven-time Premier League champion looks to pick up from where he left off on Tyneside when he faces newcomer Josh Rock in the quarter-finals.
Van Gerwen went the entire 2025 campaign without picking up a weekly title, but got off the mark at the first time of asking following a trio of impressive wins with consecutive 97+ averages.
The Dutch icon now looks to inflict a second successive quarter-final defeat on World Cup of Darts winner Rock – who was given a harsh introduction to the Premier League on debut last week.
Rock shared the opening four legs with Jonny Clayton before watching the Welshman reel off four on the spin to clinch a commanding victory with a 109.8 average.
The stand-out quarter-final tie features a repeat of the recent Winmau World Masters final as Luke Littler faces his great rival Luke Humphries.
The world’s top two collide for the 28th time in PDC competition as Littler bids to make it five in a row over his closest challenger.
The duo have dominated the Premier League over the past two seasons, with Littler claiming the title on debut in 2024 before Humphries dethroned the teenager in last year’s final to secure the title for the first time.
Littler boasts an extraordinary record in Belgium, having won back-to-back European Tour titles in Wieze, while also lifting last year’s Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp.
The world number one prevailed in an epic 11th-set decider to become World Masters champion less than a fortnight ago and will be out to bounce back from last week’s quarter-final defeat to Gian van Veen.
Humphries picked up two points on opening night thanks to a 6-5 win over Gerwyn Price with a 104.5 average, before going down 6-2 to an inspired Van Gerwen.
Van Veen, last week’s runner-up on debut, aims to go one better in Belgium and opens up against an in-form Price.
The reigning European Champion ended his losing streak against Littler in a repeat of January’s World Championship final and went on to defeat Clayton 6-4, but ultimately failed to deliver in the final, averaging just 90 in a 6-4 defeat to his Dutch compatriot MVG.
Van Veen then suffered successive early exits in the opening two ProTour events in Hildesheim earlier this week, while Price produced a series of astonishing performances en route to Tuesday’s final.
The former Premier League finalist registered six ton-plus averages in his seven matches, including a 111 in the Last 16 against Luke Woodhouse and a 117 in a 6-0 whitewash of Van Gerwen, before narrowly losing out to Wessel Nijman in 8-7 in the final despite a 107.4 average.
Meanwhile, 2021 Premier League champion Jonny Clayton looks to build on last week’s impressive start when he faces Stephen Bunting.
Clayton came flying out of the traps on his return to the competition, averaging just shy of 110 and converting six from nine on the doubles in his victory over Rock, before losing out to Van Veen in the semi-finals.
Like Bunting, Clayton also opted out of the midweek Players Championship double-header in order to prioritise this landmark first league night in Antwerp.
Bunting lost his opening eight matches of last year’s Premier League en route to finishing bottom of the table and will be determined to get off the mark at the second opportunity this season following a 6-2 defeat to Van Gerwen in Newcastle which saw him convert just 22 per cent of his attempts at doubles.
The action gets under way from 6pm GMT (7pm local time), with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
