Premier League Darts lands in Leeds for Night 14 on Thursday with a potentially pivotal set of fixtures in the play-off race.

Just three nights of league action remain before the top four players in the table progress to The O2 to compete for the sport’s most prestigious invitational title.

Jonny Clayton and Luke Littler have already secured their spot in Finals Night, leaving the other six players to battle it out for the two remaining places.

Just two points separate the three players in fourth to sixth positions, with Michael van Gerwen currently holding down the all-important fourth spot.

The seven-time Premier League champion won the opening night in Newcastle and has reached a further three finals, but has suffered two quarter-final defeats in his last three outings.

Van Gerwen, who missed out on the play-offs last year and has spent ten of the 13 weeks in the top four so far this season, faces a showdown with league leader Luke Littler at the First Direct Arena.

Littler has won all three of their meetings in this year’s Premier League to date and heads to Yorkshire bidding for a hat-trick of weekly titles.

The back-to-back World Champion has claimed glory in Liverpool and Aberdeen to move two points clear at the summit and is vying to equal last year’s tally of six weekly titles.

Any slip-up from Van Gerwen could be capitalised upon by crowd favourite Luke Humphries – who is looking to complete a remarkable hat-trick of triumphs in Leeds.

The avid Leeds United supporter claimed the weekly titles here in 2024 and 2025 but is yet to pick up a single weekly title this season and has work to do if he is to reach The O2 for the third consecutive year.

The defending champion picked up a crucial three points by reaching the final in Aberdeen last week – where he was denied in a last-leg decider by Littler despite averaging 103.

Humphries puts his unbeaten record in Leeds on the line against debutant Josh Rock – who remains languishing at the foot of the table.

After a run of four consecutive quarter-final wins, successive defeats have all but ended Rock’s faint hopes of gate-crashing the play-offs, though he could still have a major say in who does make The O2.

Meanwhile, Gian van Veen looks to remain firmly in the play-off picture by overcoming Stephen Bunting.

Despite missing a night through illness, Van Veen sits just two points outside of the top four thanks to four weekly final appearances and back-to-back semi-final runs.

The European Champion, who has been using new prototype darts for the past two weeks, averaged 104.3 and 102.6 in his respective matches in Aberdeen.

Bunting is without a win in his last three outings, leaving him seven points adrift of the top four and knowing that a fourth straight defeat here would effectively end his play-off aspirations.

The opening match of the night features an all-Welsh clash between 2021 champion Jonny Clayton and former finalist Gerwyn Price.

Clayton, a winner of four nightly titles this season, was knocked off top spot last week but is safely assured of a place at The O2 and is attempting to leapfrog Littler once again.

Price holds a five-point buffer over Van Veen in fifth, having picked up a brace of nightly titles, and boasts a dominant recent record over Clayton with 12 wins from their last 13 meetings.

The action gets under way from 7pm BST, with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
