Premier League Darts 2026 line-up | Eight-player field confirmed for 17-week roadshow
The 2026 Premier League Darts line-up has been confirmed, with Gian van Veen and Josh Rock set to make their debuts in the elite invitational.
The 22nd edition of Premier League Darts will feature eight players competing in a weekly knockout format from February 5 to May 28.
The new BetMGM Premier League season will commence in Newcastle on Thursday February 5, as darts’ biggest party returns to 17 venues across the UK and Europe.
The tournament will be staged on consecutive Thursday nights as the sport’s top stars – including reigning champion Luke Humphries, back-to-back World Champion Luke Littler and seven-time Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen – battle it out for the coveted title and £1.25m in prize money.
Van Veen enjoyed a sensational run to the final of the World Darts Championship, losing out to an imperious Littler on January 3, and the 23-year-old receives an automatic Premier League spot for the first time as the new world number three.
Littler is bidding to continue his remarkable spell of dominance and regain the title he won on debut two years ago, while Humphries looks to become only the third player to successfully retain this title.
World Series Finals champion Van Gerwen, the world number four, makes his 14th consecutive Premier League Darts appearance.
Northern Ireland’s Rock will make his debut in the elite invitational after winning the World Cup of Darts last summer as well as reaching the semi-finals of the UK Open and World Matchplay.
Stephen Bunting returns to the line-up despite finishing bottom of the table last season, while former World Champion Gerwyn Price also returns after reaching the play-offs in 2025.
Jonny Clayton, the 2021 Premier League champion, returns to the fold for the first time since 2023 as he aims to maintain his 100 per cent record of reaching the play-offs.
Following the opening night in Newcastle and the event’s debut in Antwerp, February will also feature league nights in Glasgow and Belfast during an action-packed opening month, before visits to Cardiff, Nottingham, Dublin and Berlin in March.
The night in Cardiff precedes the UK Open, which gets under way in Minehead the following day, meaning Exeter has been dropped from the schedule after hosting the Premier League since 2009.
The race to The O2 will intensify in April, with further league nights to be held in Manchester, Brighton, Rotterdam, Liverpool and Aberdeen, before the season draws to a close in May.
The final three league nights will take place in Leeds, Birmingham and Sheffield, which will be followed by the season-ending Finals on a bumper night at The O2 in London on Thursday May 28.
The weekly knockout format, which was introduced in 2022, is set to be retained for a fifth straight season, with the weekly fixture list to be confirmed in due course.
