PDC Order of Merit following the 2021 Players Championship Finals
Ryan Searle has moved into the top 16 on the PDC Order of Merit for the first time following his landmark run to the final of the Players Championship Finals in Minehead.
Searle broke new ground by reaching his first major ranking final last weekend, narrowly losing out to Peter Wright in an epic last-leg shoot-out.
The 34-year-old Devonian went into the season’s penultimate ranking event as world number 22 but will head to Alexandra Palace for the World Championship as world number 15.
Searle’s success means Dirk van Duijvenbode drops back out of the elite top 16, with Stephen Bunting dropping into 16th spot.
The top 14 in the PDC Order of Merit remains unchanged, though Wright’s second major televised title of the year has seen him close the gap on world number one Gerwyn Price to just £65,000.
Had Wright defeated Price in the Grand Slam final a fortnight ago before going on to triumph in Minehead, he would have become world number one for the first time going into the World Championship.
Wright, however, is now defending £500,000 against his ranking from his World Championship win two years ago.
Simon Whitlock has dropped two places to 20th following his First Round defeat to Searle last weekend, while Glen Durrant’s failure to qualify for the event has led to him falling a further three places to 24th.
Brendan Dolan’s run to a first major ranking Semi-Final since 2012 has seen him surge five places to 23rd.
Raymond van Barneveld remains upwardly mobile and has climbed a further six places to 68th ahead of his return to Ally Pally in December.
Martin Schindler is also up six places to 69th, with Ryan Meikle rising five places to 71st.
