Baltic Sea Darts Open 2026 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play

The seeded players commence their 2026 Baltic Sea Darts Open campaigns in the second round in Kiel on Saturday.

With six of the world’s top eight players opting out of this weekend’s competition, opportunity knocks for a potential new winner of a European Tour title.

The afternoon session includes a showdown between 2023 Baltic Sea Darts Open champion Dave Chisnall and three-time European Tour event winner Joe Cullen.

World Championship quarter-finalist Justin Hood averaged 103.4 in a 6-4 win over Max Hopp in Friday’s opening round, and the left-hander now comes up against two-time Players Championship event winner Jermaine Wattimena.

Former World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker faces a tough opening assignment against WDF World Champion Jimmy van Schie – who whitewashed Ian White in the opening round.

Ryan Searle, runner-up in last week’s International Darts Open, takes on three-time European Tour event finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode in another stand-out tie.

Australian number one Damon Heta starts out against Czechia’s top darter – Karel Sedlacek – with both players battling for a place in July’s World Matchplay via the ProTour Order of Merit.

Meanwhile, World Cup of Darts winner Daryl Gurney takes on crowd favourite Ricky Evans in a repeat of the 2019 German Darts Championship final.

Andrew Gilding bids for revenge over Luke Woodhouse when the pair collide in a re-run of the recent Players Championship 18 final which saw ‘Woody’ secure his maiden ranking title.

Wessel Nijman, a four-time Players Championship event winner and European Darts Trophy champion in 2026, faces Polish number one Krzysztof Ratajski in a tasty opener.

The evening session sees Ross Smith commence his bid for back-to-back European Tour titles in the space of a week as he opens up against last year’s Hungarian Darts Trophy winner – Niko Springer.

James Wade resumes his pursuit of a first European Tour title in a decade with a clash against Niels Zonneveld – twice a European Tour semi-finalist this season.

European Champion and World Championship finalist Gian van Veen looks to improve on his underwhelming recent run of form when he faces the returning Dimitri van den Bergh – who recorded his first European Tour win in over 12 months on Friday by defeating Alan Soutar 6-2.

Former Masters champion Chris Dobey also aims to end his wait for an elusive maiden European Tour title this weekend, and the Bedlington ace starts out against Polish youngster Sebastian Bialecki – who averaged 100.3 in a 6-3 success over James Hurrell on Friday.

Former UK Open champion Danny Noppert looks to put a patchy recent run of form behind him when he meets former European Tour finalist Willie O’Connor – who overcame Cristo Reyes 6-4 in Round One.

Cameron Menzies was Friday’s stand-out performer as he averaged 108.4 in a blistering 6-4 win over Rob Cross, and the maverick Scotsman now comes up against another former World Champion in Stephen Bunting.

Nathan Aspinall, German Darts Grand Prix champion in April, marks his return to competitive action with a blockbuster tie against in-form Dutch star Kevin Doets – a recent Players Championship event winner.

German number one Martin Schindler – a three-time European Tour event winner – opens up with a tie against Ryan Joyce – who produced a spectacular three-bullseye 150 checkout in his first round win over Christian Kist.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with second round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
