Baltic Sea Darts Open 2025 | Day Three Preview and Order of Play
The ninth European Tour silverware of the season is up for grabs in Kiel on Sunday as the last 16 lock horns at the Baltic Sea Darts Open.
A £30,000 top prize is on offer at the Wunderino Arena as 12 seeds and four qualifiers go head-to-head over two sessions.
The afternoon session plays host to the Third Round ties, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final follow in the evening.
A new name is guaranteed on the Baltic Sea Darts Open trophy, with all eyes on world number one Luke Humphries as he faces his close friend Ryan Searle in the opening tie of the day.
Humphries is bidding for his first Euro Tour silverware of the year and was forced to survive a scare from Mickey Mansell in his opener on Saturday, with the Northern Irishman missing a match dart in the deciding leg.
Former Swiss Trophy finalist Searle, meanwhile, averaged 100.5 in a comfortable 6-3 success over Cameron Menzies and is eyeing only a second Euro Tour quarter-final appearance of 2025.
World Cup of Darts winner Josh Rock steps up his quest for a second European Tour title when he faces Jonny Clayton – runner up with Wales at last month’s World Cup.
Rock defeated Clayton 8-4 in the final of last year’s Dutch Championship to secure his maiden Euro Tour title and begin his campaign this weekend with a 100 average in a 6-1 rout of Justin Hood.
Clayton overcame World Youth Champion Gian van Veen 6-4 and is targeting a second European Tour title in the space of three events, having triumphed at the Dutch Championship in May.
Gerwyn Price, a winner of three Players Championship titles this term, faces a tough assignment against former ProTour event winner Wessel Nijman.
Poland Masters champion Price averaged 101.7 in a 6-1 thrashing of William O’Connor in Round Two, while Nijman has already seen off Martin Kramer and Damon Heta by 6-3 scorelines.
European Darts Grand Prix champion Gary Anderson resumes his bid for further Euro Tour glory this year when he faces former WDF World Champion Andy Baetens.
Anderson set his stall out in style with a 6-2 success over Krzysztof Ratajski, and is now out to halt the ground-breaking run of the Belgian ace – who has dispatched Raymond van Barneveld and defending champion Rob Cross en route to this stage.
James Wade, a recent Players Championship event winner, looks to continue his fine run of form against an equally resurgent Daryl Gurney.
Seventh seed Wade thrashed Luke Woodhouse 6-1 in Saturday’s opener and now comes up against recent World Cup of Darts champion Gurney – who has already put Martin Lukeman and Dave Chisnall to the sword this weekend.
A fascinating all-German affair sees three-time Euro Tour event winner Martin Schindler take on rising star Niko Springer.
Schindler triumphed at this year’s Austrian Open to add to his brace of titles in 2024, while Springer was runner-up in May’s Dutch Championship and enjoyed an impressive 6-2 scalp of Stephen Bunting in Round Two with a 100.7 average.
A familiar fixture on the European Tour sees Premier League star Nathan Aspinall take on former UK Open champion Danny Noppert.
Fourth seed Aspinall is vying for a hat-trick of European Tour titles this year and got underway with a 99.5 average in a 6-4 win over home favourite Ricardo Pietreczko, while Noppert averaged 100.3 in a superb 6-3 defeat of Mike De Decker.
Chris Dobey remains in the hunt for a first Euro Tour final since 2019, and he comes up against Ross Smith – runner-up in April’s Austrian Open.
Dobey dispatched Dirk van Duijvenbode 6-3 with the aid of five 180s on Saturday, while Smith completed a ruthless whitewash of Kim Huybrechts.
The action gets under way from 11am BST, with Third Round and Quarter-Final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, Semi-Finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
