The eleventh of 13 live-streamed Euro Tour events this season will feature 48 players battling it out for the £25,000 title at the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim, Germany.
The field is comprised of the top 16 entrants from the PDC ProTour Order of Merit (seeded through to the Second Round) plus a further 18 UK Qualifiers, six European qualifiers, two West & South European qualifiers, four Host Nation qualifiers, one Nordic & Baltic qualifier and one East European qualifier.
Michael van Gerwen is the defending champion after he defeated Ireland’s William O’Connor 8-2 in last year’s final.
Van Gerwen is seeded number one as he looks for his fifth European Tour title of the season and aims to go one better than last week’s runner-up spot.
Mensur Suljovic, the newly-crowed Austrian Championship winner, is out to make it back-to-back titles, while number two seed Ian White, World Matchplay champion Rob Cross and Grand Slam champion Gerwyn Price are among the other key front-runners.
Other seeded stars include Daryl Gurney, Peter Wright, James Wade and Glen Durrant, while notable qualifiers who start out in Round One include Michael Smith, Simon Whitlock, Jamie Hughes and Jeffrey de Zwaan.
The tournament runs from September 6-8 and is streamed exclusively live on desktop or mobile devices to fans in the UK and various other regions.
