The race to the 2023 European Championship | Latest qualification table ahead of ET13
The race to the 2023 European Championship culminates at the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim this weekend.
Following the 13th and final European Tour event of the season on Sunday, the top 32 players from the European Tour Order of Merit will secure a place in the European Championship in Dortmund from October 26-29.
A number of places remain up for grabs in the £500,000 major going into the German Championship – which features 48 players in action from October 13-15.
Dave Chisnall, a three-time Euro Tour event winner this season, is set to be seeded number one, but can still be overthrown by newly-crowned World Grand Prix champion Luke Humphries – should he win the title and Chisnall fail to make the final.
Former champions Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross, James Wade and Peter Wright will return in a quest for further glory.
Steve Beaton and Madars Razma currently occupy the final provisional qualification spots, but Masters champion Chris Dobey would leapfrog Beaton with victory in his First Round tie on Friday.
The likes of Dylan Selvin and Alan Soutar are also among the chasing pack but would require runs to the Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals respectively in order to gate-crash the European Championship.
Gian van Veen has assured himself of a debut appearance in this year’s European Championship, while Ricardo Pietreczko could also be in line to make his debut.
Five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld is set for his first European Championship appearance since 2015.
Gary Anderson, Callan Rydz, Luke Woodhouse, Simon Whitlock, Ian White, William O’Connor and Kim Huybrechts are among the high-profile players who will miss out on this year’s European Championship.
