Back-to-back World Champion Luke Littler and Singapore legend Paul Lim collide for the first time at the 2026 Bahrain Darts Masters on Thursday.
World number one Littler starts his quest to regain the date palm trophy with an historic tie against 71-year-old Lim.
Just 12 days on from becoming only the fourth player in PDC history to retain the World Championship title, Littler retains to televised action bidding to replicate his 2024 triumph in Bahrain.
The 18-year-old, who has racked up four World Series titles, is unbeaten in televised competition since last October’s European Championship in Dortmund 82 days ago.
An extraordinary 53-year age gap between the two players marks a new darting record, with Lim having made his Lakeside debut back in 1982, before Littler’s mother had even been born.
Lim, WDF World Championship finalist in 2024, pulled off an historic victory over Jeffrey De Graaf at Alexandra Palace last month before losing out in straight sets to Luke Humphries in Round Two, mustering just one leg in the process.
Littler averaged above 100 in six of his seven matches en route to his second world title, while Lim averaged 86 and 85 in his two respective matches at Ally Pally.
The match gets under way from around 6.30pm GMT and will be contested over the best of 11 legs, with either last year’s runner-up Gerwyn Price or Japan’s Motomu Sakai awaiting the winner in Friday’s quarter-finals.
