Phil Taylor v Raymond van Barneveld stream: Watch their NHS charity show-down here

Jamie Shaw in Off The Oche 09 Apr 2020

One of the greatest rivalries in darts history is to be resumed on Thursday as Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld face off in a special charity challenge match.

With 21 world titles between them, Taylor and Barney are two of the most iconic figures ever to grace the oche and have contested some of the sport’s most memorable matches.

The duo contested a total of 83 matches between 1990 and 2017, including the infamous 2007 World Championship final which was won by Van Barneveld in a sudden death leg.

Despite both having retired from professional competition in recent years, the competitive instinct remains strong, and the pair have agreed to a special soft-tip show-down to raise money to support NHS workers.

Taylor and Van Barneveld will face off on the Target Nexus board, which allows players to compete online from remote locations.

Both players will be playing from home and will be able to see and interact with each other via the live camera function on the Nexus.

The match gets underway from 7pm BST on Thursday April 9 and the format will be best of 13 legs with traditional 501 down rules.

The challenge match has been organised by Paddy Power – who are donating £1,000 to the NHS Help Them Help Us charity for every 180 hit.
