PDC Order of Merit following the 2026 World Matchplay | Littler smashes record rankings tally
Luke Littler has stretched his lead at the top of the PDC Order of Merit to more than £2million after emphatically retaining the World Matchplay title on Sunday.
Littler became only the fourth player in World Matchplay history to successfully defend the trophy as he thrashed Gerwyn Price 18-9 in the final to cap off a record-breaking week in Blackpool.
The 19-year-old scooped the record £225,000 top prize at the Winter Gardens, becoming the first player ever to surpass the £3million mark on the two-year Order of Merit.
Littler is now over £2.1million clear of his nearest challenger Luke Humphries – who leads Gian van Veen by just £9,500 in the world number two spot.
Littler has won all four major televised ranking tournaments in 2026 so far and remains on course for an unprecedented clean sweep, with the World Grand Prix, European Championship, Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals titles still up for grabs.
However, he is yet to feature in a Players Championship event this season and has a £22,750 gap to make up on the Players Championship Order of Merit between now and November if he is to qualify for Minehead and keep his hopes of a clean sweep on track.
Price’s run to a second World Matchplay final sees him climb three places and back into the world’s top four, leapfrogging Jonny Clayton to regain the Welsh number one spot.
Meanwhile, Michael van Gerwen’s second round exit in Blackpool sees him drop three places to seventh – his lowest ranking position since 2013.
Wessel Nijman continues his rapid ascent up to a career-high world number 13 despite having not yet reached a televised ranking quarter-final.
Van Duijvenbode’s magnificent run to a first World Matchplay semi-final sees him surge five places to 23rd, with Rob Cross dropping three places to 24th.
Niko Springer moves into the world’s top 40 for the first time after making his debut at the Empress Ballroom, while Dimitri van den Bergh’s failure to qualify means he falls a further seven places to 46th.
