The second round action takes centre stage at the 2026 World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt on Saturday as the four seeded nations enter the fray.

Following two days of dramatic group fixtures at the Eissporthalle, the group winners now join the top four seeds in the Last 16 across two unmissable sessions.

All eyes will be on top seeds England as Luke Littler and Luke Humphries begin their bid for redemption on German soil.

The world’s top two were unceremoniously dumped out of the tournament by hosts Germany at this stage of the competition 12 months ago and return in a quest for England’s sixth World Cup of Darts title in total.

Having most recently contested an all-time classic Premier League final little over a fortnight ago, the two World Champions now join forces to take on Spain’s Cristo Reyes and Jose Justicia in their knockout opener.

The Spanish duo saw off Croatia and Japan to top Group K, but now face a formidable test if they are to emulate their compatriots Toni Alcinas and Carlos Rodriguez – who famously stunned Phil Taylor and James Wade back in 2010.

The evening session also sees Northern Ireland launch the defence of their title with a clash against former finalists Belgium.

Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney made history by securing Northern Ireland’s maiden World Cup crown 12 months ago and are vying to become the first duo to successfully retain the trophy since Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld of the Netherlands in 2018.

Dimitri van den Bergh and Mike De Decker were handed an unexpected reprieve after they topped Group B despite losing their opening fixture to Hong Kong.

Three-time champion Van Gerwen marks his return to the Netherlands side alongside European Champion Gian van Veen as the formidable Dutch duo face Sweden.

Van Gerwen has featured in this event only once since 2021, while Van Veen enjoyed a run to the semi-finals on debut alongside Danny Noppert last year.

Sweden, meanwhile, reached the quarter-finals in 2024 and will be out to emulate that run after Jeffrey de Graaf and Oskar Lukasiak delivered successive wins over South Africa and Mongolia.

Hosts Germany look to delight a bumper Frankfurt faithful once again as they take on last year’s quarter-finalists – Czechia.

Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko coasted to the top of Group A with wins over Philippines and New Zealand for the total loss of just two legs, while Karel Sedláček and Adam Gawlas overcame India and Denmark for the combined loss of just one leg.

The afternoon session includes a showdown between fourth seeds Scotland and surprise packages Norway.

Gary Anderson, champion alongside Peter Wright in 2019, teams up with debutant Cameron Menzies for the first time as they come up against Cor Dekker and Kent Jøran Sivertsen.

Republic of Ireland, runners-up to Scotland in 2019, continue their quest to go one better when they meet Poland.

William O’Connor produced a stand-out display alongside first-time partner Mickey Mansell as they defeated Singapore and Gibraltar in Group D, while Players Championship event winners Krzysztof Ratajski and Sebastian Białecki saw off Portugal and Switzerland to win Group E.

Elsewhere, two-time champions Wales, comprised of Premier League star Jonny Clayton and newcomer Nick Kenny, take on USA’s Adam Sevada and Stowe Buntz – who saw off Canada in their group shootout.

Latvia survived a major scare to edge through their group despite a shock defeat to debutants Trinidad & Tobago, and Madars Razma and Valters Melderis now come up against France’s Thibault Tricole and Nicolas Thuillier – who came from 3-0 down to stun Austria in a last-leg decider.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST (1pm local time), with second round matches to be contested over the best of 15 legs.
