Flanders Darts Trophy 2025 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The seeded players commence their Flanders Darts Trophy campaigns on Saturday as the Second Round action takes centre stage in Antwerp.
Day One of the season’s tenth European Tour event saw the likes of Wessel Nijman, Michael Smith and Cameron Menzies crash out, now the Order of Merit seeds take to the Expo stage on Day Two as they aim to safely progress to Sunday’s Last 16.
With Gerwyn Price having withdrawn from the event through injury on Friday, Ryan Joyce’s win over Ricardo Pietreczko means he receives a bye through to the Last 16.
Saturday’s afternoon session subsequently features seven matches, including defending champion Dave Chisnall up against Germany’s Leon Weber – who pulled off a shock deciding-leg win over Jermaine Wattimena in Round One.
World Cup of Darts winner Josh Rock begins his bid for a second European Tour title with a tie against in-form Karel Sedlacek – who saw off Nijman 6-5 with a 99 average in his opener.
Two-time World Champion Peter Wright looks to put a torrid run of results behind him when he comes up against European Championship semi-finalist Luke Woodhouse – who averaged 103 in a 6-1 rout of Johan Engstrom on Friday.
A tasty all-Dutch showdown sees former UK Open champion Danny Noppert take on two-time European Tour runner-up Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Chris Dobey, fresh from his debut World Series campaign in Australia and New Zealand, returns to face Polish number one Krzysztof Ratajski – who saw off Steve Lennon 6-3 in Round One.
Eighth seed Damon Heta, runner-up in June’s European Darts Open, faces an opponent who also landed a memorable nine-darter in last year’s World Championship – Christian Kist.
Two-time European Tour event winner Rob Cross starts out with a tricky clash against former World Matchplay finalist Mensur Suljovic – who dispatched Andrew Gilding 6-4 in his opener.
The evening session sees reigning World Champion Luke Littler return to European Tour action for the first time since April as he takes on Ireland’s Dylan Slevin.
Littler started the season by clinching the Belgian Darts Open title for the second successive year, and after reaching the semi-finals of the German Darts Grand Prix, he then skipped the subsequent five events.
The World Matchplay champion claimed back-to-back World Series titles Down Under earlier this month and will look to maintain that form on stage when he meets former Development Tour winner Slevin – who defeated host nation qualifier François Schweyen in Round One.
World Matchplay runner-up James Wade aims to silence the partisan home crowd when he takes on Belgian stalwart Kim Huybrechts.
World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker also carries home hopes on his shoulders as he meets German number one Martin Schindler – a three-time European Tour event winner.
Another mouth-watering clash sees Dutch duo Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen go head-to-head.
Van Gerwen reached the Last 16 on his ProTour return on Monday before suffering a first round exit the following day and now features in his first European Tour event since May.
The three-time World Champion, who claimed the German Darts Grand Prix title earlier this year with an 8-5 victory over Van Veen in the final.
The youngster will seek his revenge as he searches for a maiden European Tour title, having also finished runner-up to Van Gerwen in last year’s Hungarian Darts Trophy.
Former Swiss Trophy finalist Ryan Searle takes on five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld – who is chasing down a place in both the World Grand Prix and European Championship.
In-form Stephen Bunting, who finished runner-up in Monday’s Players Championship event before going on to win the title on Tuesday, faces former Masters champion Joe Cullen – who thrashed Ian White 6-1 on Friday.
Dutch Darts Championship winner Jonny Clayton looks to avert a potential scalp at the hands of home favourite Mario Vandenbogaerde – who knocked out Michael Smith in a deciding leg in Round One.
Meanwhile, former European Champion Ross Smith, runner-up in this year’s Austrian Open, takes on a resurgent Daryl Gurney – who averaged 104.3 in a 6-3 success over Callan Rydz in his opener.
The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Second Round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
