The seeded players begin their Baltic Sea Darts Open campaigns on Saturday as the Second Round action takes centre stage in Kiel.

Day One of the season’s ninth European Tour event saw the likes of Joe Cullen and Raymond van Barneveld crash out, now the Order of Merit seeds take to the Wunderino Arena stage on Day Two as they aim to safely progress to Sunday’s Last 16.

The evening session sees reigning champion Rob Cross launch his title defence with a clash against former WDF World Champion Andy Baetens.

Cross, who clinched his second European Tour title here last year and has already landed World Series silverware in 2025, faces a tricky opener against the Belgian ace – who knocked out Van Barneveld in the opening round.

World number one Luke Humphries begins his latest bid for a first Euro Tour title of the season with a showdown against Grand Slam semi-finalist Mickey Mansell.

Premier League champion Humphries recently picked up the US Masters title in New York and will be out to make an instant impact on his return to big stage action.

Nathan Aspinall aims to continue his blistering spell of form on the European Tour when he faces home favourite Ricardo Pietreczko.

Aspinall has racked up two Euro Tour titles in 2025 to date, both on German soil, and notably whitewashed Pietreczko in four sets when they met in the Last 16 of the World Championship last December.

Former World Champion Gerwyn Price bids to continue his terrific vein of form when he faces two-time Euro Tour finalist William O’Connor.

Price claimed the Poland Masters title in Gliwice last Sunday before finishing runner-up to Bradley Brooks in Wednesday’s Players Championship 21.

O’Connor secured a spot in this event via the reserve list and battled his way to a deciding-leg victory over Poland’s Tytus Kanik on Friday evening.

German number one Martin Schindler looks to carry home hopes into Sunday by overcoming European Championship finalist Jermaine Wattimena – who thrashed Callan Rydz 6-1 with a 103.3 average on Friday.

Stephen Bunting, International Open champion earlier this year, faces a tough opener against emerging German star Niko Springer – runner-up in May’s Dutch Darts Championship.

World Cup of Darts winner Josh Rock – who could secure a return to the world’s top 16 this weekend – starts out against Tour Card holder qualifier Justin Hood – who pulled off an impressive 6-3 scalp of Cullen in Round One.

Premier League star Chris Dobey remains without a Euro Tour final appearance since 2019 and resumes his quest to end that drought when he meets a resurgent Dirk van Duijvenbode – who averaged 105.3 in a 6-2 success over Ryan Meikle in Round One.

The afternoon session sees two-time World Champion Gary Anderson – winner of this year’s European Darts Grand Prix – take on Polish number one Krzysztof Ratajski.

World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker faces a clash against former UK Open champion Danny Noppert, while former European Champion Ross Smith meets two-time European Tour event winner Kim Huybrechts.

Tenth seed Dave Chisnall, an eight-time European Tour event winner, takes on recent World Cup of Darts winner Daryl Gurney.

The opening match of the afternoon sees former Swiss Trophy finalist Ryan Searle up against enigmatic Scotsman Cameron Menzies – who recovered from 5-3 down to deny 18-year-old Yorick Hofkens in a deciding leg with a 101 average on Friday.

Damon Heta, Players Championship 20 winner on Tuesday, bids to continue his terrific run of form when he plays Dutch starlet Wessel Nijman – who is set to make his World Matchplay debut next week.

Dutch Championship winner Jonny Clayton faces a formidable opener against World Youth champion Gian van Veen – who brutally whitewashed Johan Engstrom with a 102.5 average in Round One.

Seventh seed James Wade, who returned to the winner’s circle on the ProTour last month, starts out against 2024 European Championship semi-finalist Luke Woodhouse.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Second Round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
