The draw for the 2024 Players Championship Finals has been confirmed, with Luke Humphries commencing his title defence against Gabriel Clemens in Minehead.
The £600,000 ranked major features the top 64 players from this year’s Players Championship Order of Merit battling it out at Butlins Minehead from November 22-24.
The draw bracket is based on finishing positions in the Players Championship Order of Merit, with the number one seed facing number 64 and so forth.
Reigning champion Humphries, who claimed the title for the first time in 2023, will open up with a tie against former World Championship semi-finalist Clemens.
Michael van Gerwen, who has racked up a record seven Players Championship Finals titles since 2013, starts out against 2019 semi-finalist Ian White.
Luke Littler is among a number of debutants in this year’s field, and the reigning Premier League champion will face 2022 finalist Rob Cross in one of the stand-out First Round ties.
Chris Dobey, the number one seed after claiming three Players Championship titles this season, faces two-time major winner Nathan Aspinall – who held on to the final qualification spot.
Two former champions face off as 2018 winner Daryl Gurney meets 2021 winner Peter Wright, while 2014 champion Gary Anderson takes on Suffolk’s Ryan Meikle.
Gerwyn Price, the 2019 runner-up, starts out against French number one Thibault Tricole, as 2021 finalist Ryan Searle faces Sweden’s Jeffrey De Graaf.
Newly-crowned European Champion Ritchie Edhouse will play Luke Woodhouse in a repeat of their semi-final clash in Dortmund.
Second seed Stephen Bunting takes on Belgian veteran Mario Vandenbogaerde, while third seed Damon Heta faces 2020 runner-up Mervyn King.
World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker meets Richard Veenstra, while 2016 finalist Dave Chisnall faces former Masters champion Joe Cullen.
Former European champion Ross Smith takes on reigning UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh, while another notable tie sees 2023 World Champion Michael Smith face emerging star Dom Taylor.
