Jonny Clayton has withdrawn from the upcoming World Series double-header in New Zealand and Australia for family reasons.

The Welsh star had been set to defend his title at the New South Wales Masters from August 11-12, and was also due to return to Hamilton for next week’s New Zealand Masters.

However, last Sunday’s World Matchplay runner-up has pulled out of both events in order to remain at home with his family.

Clayton was visibly emotional throughout the week in Blackpool and dedicated his superb run to the final to his ill father.

He will be replaced in each World Series event by the top-ranked non-qualified player from the relevant PDC Affiliate Tour Order of Merit, with Australia’s Damon Heta promoted to a PDC Representative in the draws.

Warren Parry will be the DPNZ replacement for the New Zealand Masters from August 4-5, while Harley Kemp is the additional DPA representative in Wollongong.
