Biography
Flowing-haired fan favourite Ryan Searle has risen quickly through the ranks.
Nicknamed “Heavy Metal”, Searle won two Challenge Tour events in 2016 to secure his Tour Card for 2017 and reached his first ProTour final at Players Championship 18 in September 2018. He made a strong impression at the 2019 World Championship, reaching the last 16 on debut before falling to eventual finalist Michael Smith.
Searle defeated Michael van Gerwen to win his first ProTour title in February 2020 and has since added several Players Championship crowns. In 2021 he reached his first televised quarter-final at the World Grand Prix and then went on to a thrilling final at the Players Championship Finals, where he lost 11-10 to Peter Wright. With his powerful scoring and laid-back demeanour, he continues to challenge the sport’s elite.
