Raymond van Barneveld has been left out of the World Series of Darts Finals on home soil in Amsterdam as a further 11 players received invitations.

Five-time World Champion Van Barneveld, a Players Championship winner earlier this year, was widely expected to be included among the four Dutch invites, but did not receive a wildcard pick.

The £300,000 non-ranking tournament takes place at AFAS Live in Amsterdam from October 29-31 and will feature 24 players competing.

Danny Noppert, semi-finalist in last week’s World Grand Prix, is joined by 2020 World Grand Prix finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode, four-time PDC ranking event winner Vincent van der Voort and former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan as the four Dutch Invited Players.

World Cup winner John Henderson will make his World Series debut, while Noppert will return to the venue where he was the runner-up to Michael van Gerwen in the 2019 event.

Henderson is among the four international invited players, along with world number 13 Krzysztof Ratajski, German number one Gabriel Clemens and Latvia’s Madars Razma.

UK Open champion James Wade, Grand Slam champion Jose de Sousa, world number nine Michael Smith and World Championship semi-finalist Dave Chisnall are also heading to Amsterdam as the next four players from the PDC Order of Merit not already invited.

Reigning champion Gerwyn Price, four-time winner Van Gerwen, world number two Peter Wright and history-maker Fallon Sherrock were among the eight players invited prior to the World Grand Prix.

A further four places are up for grabs at the Tour Card Holder Qualifier on Monday October 18.

Taking place across three days, the tournament will see the First Round take place on Friday October 29, before the Second Round on Saturday October 30 sees eight seeded players enter the fray.

The Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final will then be played across two sessions on Sunday October 31.
