The Betfred World Matchplay returns to Blackpool in 2025, and you can follow the latest results and schedule of play here.

The 32nd staging of the prestigious major sees the top 16 players on the Main Order of Merit joined by the next 16 highest ranked players on the ProTour Order of Merit at the iconic Winter Gardens from July 19-27.

Reigning champion Luke Humphries is the number one seed in the draw as he bids to become only the fourth player in the history of the competition to successfully defend the title.

Reigning World Champion Luke Littler is aiming to complete the career Triple Crown by adding the Phil Taylor Trophy to his haul, while Michael van Gerwen is out in search of a fourth Matchplay crown.

Other former champions in the field include Nathan Aspinall, Gary Anderson, Peter Wright, Rob Cross and James Wade – who is making his 20th consecutive appearance in the event.

Former finalists bidding to go one better in Blackpool include Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton and Raymond van Barneveld, while Cameron Menzies and Wessel Nijman will make their debuts.

First Round matches are to be contested over the best of 19 legs, with Second Round matches best of 21, Quarter-Finals best of 31, Semi-Finals best of 33 and the final best of 35.

All matches must be won by two clear legs, with a match being extended if necessary for a maximum of six extra legs before a sudden death leg is required. For example, in a first to ten First Round match, if the score reaches 12-12 then the 25th leg will be the sudden death decider.
