PDC Masters to be expanded to 32-player ranking event in 2025

The PDC Masters will become a ranked event from 2025 and will feature an expanded field of 32 players.
The prestigious tournament will take place across four days from January 30 to February 2 in at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.
The Masters has become hugely popular since being introduced in 2013, initially as a 16-player invitational before expanding to 24 players three years ago.
Following the sell-out success of the 2024 event – which was won for the first time by Stephen Bunting – the PDC has now announced an expanded format which will see a further eight players competing and prize money counting towards the Order of Merit as the first ranked event of the season.
The tournament will also expand to four days, with the first round being held across evening sessions on Thursday January 30 and Friday January 31.
The second round then takes place on Saturday February 1, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final taking place on Sunday February 2.
PDC chief executive Matt Porter said: “The Masters has really grown in stature over the past decade and this new format will add further importance to what is already a significant event for competing players.
“The new format means that the 2025 season will begin with a bang as 32 players compete for a ranked title at the Marshall Arena, which has become a hugely popular venue for fans.”
