UK Open Darts 2023 Draw | Stage allocation and schedule for Rounds 1-3
The draw and stage allocation for Rounds 1-3 of the 2023 UK Open have been confirmed ahead of the prestigious major at Butlins Minehead.
The historic event known as ‘The FA Cup of Darts’ will return to the Butlins Minehead Resort from March 3-5 with 158 players competing for a record prize fund of £600,000.
An action-packed opening session will see the opening three rounds take place across multiple stages on Friday March 3.
Round One is comprised of the Tour Card Holders ranked from 97-128 along with the top eight players from the 2022 Challenge Tour and Development Tour, plus a further 16 amateur qualifiers.
First Round winners will then be joined by Tour Card Holders ranked 65-96 in Round Two, with the 32 Second Round winners accompanied by Tour Card Holders ranked 33-64 in Round Three.
The world’s top 32 enter the event in Friday evening’s Fourth Round, including reigning champion Danny Noppert, World Champion Michael Smith, world number two Gerwyn Price and former UK Open champions Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, James Wade, Gary Anderson, Nathan Aspinall and Raymond van Barneveld.
The action continues on Saturday March 4 with the fifth and sixth rounds held across two sessions, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final are contested on the Main Stage on Sunday.
Notable First Round draws include JDC World Champion Luke Littler up against Nick Fullwell, former Lakeside Champion Jelle Klaasen facing Josh Payne and James Richardson versus WDF world finalist Thibault Tricole.
Confirmed Second Round ties include PDC newcomer Richard Veenstra against Jamie Clark, former ProTour event winner Danny Jansen versus former World Youth Champion Bradley Brooks and America’s Jules van Dongen against Dutch youngster Kevin Doets.
Third Round fixtures include 2014 UK Open champion Adrian Lewis against Joe Murnan, World Youth champion and ProTour event winner Josh Rock against Luke Woodhouse and former World Cup of Darts finalist William O’Connor against former Euro Tour event winner Devon Petersen.
Tour Card Holders Christian Perez and Corey Cadby will not compete in Minehead, meaning two players will receive a First Round bye.
Former UK Open semi-finalist David Pallett also opted not to take up his invitation from the 2022 Challenge Tour Order of Merit, with Germany’s Lukas Wenig now replacing him in the field.
At the conclusion of the Third Round, an open draw will be made live on the Main Stage for the fourth round, with further draws to be made following each subsequent round.
For the first time in UK Open history, every match of the tournament will be broadcast live.
