The Premier League Darts roadshow touches down in Dublin for Night Seven on Thursday with crucial fixtures at both ends of the table.

Last week saw Jonny Clayton become the first player to secure two nightly titles this season as he stretched his lead at the top of the table to eight points.

A sold-out 3Arena welcomes the sport’s elite as the competition nears the halfway stage, with a clutch of unmissable fixtures on the cards.

Runaway league leader Clayton commences his quest for a hat-trick of weekly titles with a quarter-final tie against reigning champion Luke Humphries.

Clayton is the only player in the field yet to suffer a quarter-final defeat this season and boasts a tournament checkout success of almost 48 per cent, as well as 45 maximums.

The 2021 Premier League champion has won both of his meetings with Humphries in this year’s Premier League so far, including a 6-1 demolition in last week’s final.

Humphries remains outside the top four despite reaching his first weekly final of the campaign in Nottingham and will be determined to avert a fourth straight defeat to Clayton in all competitions.

The bottom half of the draw bracket also sees Gerwyn Price – last year’s winner in Dublin – face winless Josh Rock.

Price sits third in the table after clinching the Night Two title in Antwerp and reaching a further two semi-finals, but was denied in a deciding leg by Luke Littler in last week’s quarter-finals despite averaging 101.3 and producing checkouts of 151 and 152.

Price continued his impressive run of form by reaching the final of the European Darts Trophy on Sunday, losing out to an inspired Wessel Nijman in Gottingen.

Rock’s nightmare start to his debut Premier League campaign has seen him suffer six straight defeats, leaving him seven points adrift at the foot of the table.

An astonishing nine-darter on home soil in Belfast has proved the highlight for the World Cup of Darts winner so far, though his form away from the Premier League remains encouraging, having reached the semi-finals of the recent UK Open.

World number one Littler resumes his bid for a second weekly title of the campaign with a showdown against Stephen Bunting.

Littler opened his account in Cardiff a fortnight ago before going on to emphatically retain the UK Open title in Minehead 72 hours later.

Having spent the first four weeks outside of the top four, the back-to-back World Champion climbed to second in the table by reaching the semi-finals in Nottingham – where he was edged out in a deciding leg by Humphries despite a 101.3 average.

Bunting picked up the Night Four title in Belfast and added a further two points to his tally by thrashing an out of sorts Rock 6-1 last week.

Bunting faces Littler for the first time in this year’s Premier League, having lost four of their five meetings in last year’s competition.

Gian van Veen has pulled out of the trip to Dublin on for medical reasons, meaning Michael van Gerwen receives a bye through to the semi-finals.

The Dutch number one was hoping to continue his impressive start to his debut season, sitting in fourth place after finishing runner-up on three occasions.

However, the European Champion has been ruled out of Night Seven at the 3Arena after being diagnosed with kidney stones.

Van Gerwen receives two league points and +1 leg difference, while Van Veen receives no league points and -6 leg difference, which sees him drop out of the play-off places.

Seven-time champion Van Gerwen is without a win since Night Two and has dropped to sixth in the table, averaging below 95 in each of his last three Premier League outings.

The action gets under way from 7pm GMT, with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
