Premier League Darts 2025 Night Six Preview and Order of Play | Top marksmen collide in Nottingham
Premier League Darts heads to Nottingham for Night Six on Thursday as the world’s top two vie for supremacy once again.
Four of the opening five weekly titles have been won by either Luke Littler or Luke Humphries, and the top two go head-to-head at the Motorpoint Arena.
The opening quarter-final sees defending champion Littler take on table topper Humphries for the second time this season.
Humphries came out on top 6-4 when the pair met in the Night Four final in Exeter a fortnight ago, before Littler claimed last week’s title in Brighton to close the gap at the top to two points.
Humphries triumphed on his last visit to Nottingham 12 months ago and warmed up for his return by reaching the final of Players Championship 6 on Wednesday – finishing runner-up to Gian van Veen.
Littler’s Night Five victory came in the midst of a memorable seven days which began with him being crowned UK Open champion for the first time and winning the season’s first European Tour silverware at the Belgian Darts Open on Sunday.
The world number two saw his 19-game unbeaten run brought to an end by Van Veen on the ProTour on Tuesday but will be out to resume normal service by challenging for a third weekly title already this season, having claimed his first in Week Nine in 2024.
The task of facing either Humphries or Littler in the semi-finals will fall to either Rob Cross or Chris Dobey – who go head-to-head in the second match of the night.
Dutch Masters champion Cross has lost in successive weekly semi-finals and his two points last time out came courtesy of a sensational 6-4 win over Humphries with an average of 111.2, before losing out to Nathan Aspinall in a deciding leg despite averaging just shy of 107.
Dobey, meanwhile, is searching for his first win since finishing runner-up on opening night in Belfast, with four consecutive quarter-final exits leaving him second from bottom in the table with three points.
The bottom half of the draw bracket sees Stephen Bunting continue his quest for an elusive first win of the campaign when he faces Gerwyn Price.
The pair met on the ProTour on Wednesday, with Bunting prevailing 6-4 in the Last 16 with a 103.8 average before eventually losing out to Madars Razma in the quarter-finals.
The former Masters champion, who last featured in the Premier League a decade ago, has a tournament average of 98 but has won just 14 of 44 legs played and remains without a point to his name.
Price, meanwhile, disrupted the dominance of Humphries and Littler by winning Night Three in Dublin but has slipped to successive quarter-final defeats since and remains outside of the play-off places.
Seven-time champion Michael van Gerwen resumes his quest for a first weekly title of the campaign when he faces last week’s runner-up Nathan Aspinall.
Van Gerwen has fallen at the semi-final hurdle in four of the opening five nights, most recently at the hands of Littler with an average of just 90.4.
After a shock defeat to Robert Owen at the UK Open, MVG was knocked out of the Belgian Open by Boris Krcmar last weekend before defeats at the hands of Van Veen and Ryan Meikle in the midweek Players Championship events.
Aspinall defeated Van Gerwen 6-3 in the semi-finals on Night Three in Dublin, finishing runner-up on that occasion, and was again denied glory by Littler last week.
The two-time major winner has picked up a healthy eight points so far in his quest to make the play-offs for the first time since 2021.
The action gets under way from 7pm GMT, with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
