Premier League Darts reaches Exeter for Night Four on Thursday as the big names face off at the Westpoint Arena.

The opening three nights of the 17-week roadshow have produced a trio of different winners, with seven of the eight players having put points on the board.

On the eve of the UK Open in Minehead, the BetMGM Premier League heads to the smallest venue of the 17 for what promises to be another eventful night of knockout action.

A repeat of last week’s semi-final sees Gerwyn Price looking to do the double over world number one Luke Humphries when they face off in the Last Eight.

Price defeated Humphries 6-3 to deny ‘Cool Hand’ a third consecutive weekly final appearance, and the Welshman went on claim the Night Three crown in Dublin.

Price, who failed to pick up a single weekly title in 2024, sits second in the early league table, three points adrift of Humphries, with both having made impressive starts to the campaign.

Humphries, last year’s Premier League runner-up, took the spoils on opening night in Belfast, before losing out in a deciding leg to Luke Littler in the Glasgow final.

The Winmau World Masters champion averaged 103.5 in defeating Stephen Bunting in last week’s opener but went on to average ten points less in defeat to Price later in the evening.

The opening quarter-final tie in Exeter sees seven-time Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen take on Rob Cross in a repeat of the 2019 final.

Van Gerwen has lost in three consecutive semi-finals in this season’s Premier League so far, in contrast to last season which saw him claim two of the opening three weekly titles.

The Dutchman took the weekly title in this venue in 2022 and 2023, before losing out to Humphries in the quarter-finals 12 months ago.

Cross, meanwhile, has picked up just two points from the opening three nights, coming courtesy of his win over Bunting on opening night.

The Dutch Masters champion averaged 99.9 in a 6-5 defeat to Littler in Glasgow before a performance to forget in Dublin which saw him average just 90 in a 6-3 defeat to Nathan Aspinall.

Aspinall, who defeated Cross to claim glory in Exeter last year, looks to continue his fine recent record in this arena when he meets recent ProTour event winner Chris Dobey.

Aspinall had suffered successive quarter-final exits prior to last week’s trip to Ireland, and he opened his account with 6-3 wins over Cross and Van Gerwen, before losing the final to Price by the same scoreline.

The two-time major winner is level on three points with Dobey in the early stages of the campaign, and two close friends go head-to-head in a bid to keep pace with the top four.

Dobey finished runner-up on Night One in Belfast to mark an impressive return to the event, but he has since suffered back-to-back 6-4 loses to Humphries and Van Gerwen with averages in the region of 97.

The fourth quarter-final sees defending champion Littler take on Bahrain Masters winner Bunting – who is yet to get off the mark.

Littler’s Night Two triumph in Glasgow has been sandwiched between quarter-final defeats in Belfast and Dublin, though he boasts a clinical tournament average of 104.75.

The reigning World Champion, who is chasing down last year’s tally of four weekly titles, notably thrashed Bunting by six sets to one in their semi-final meeting at Ally Pally on January 2nd.

Bunting went on to clinch his first World Series title in Bahrain a fortnight later before finishing runner-up in the Dutch Masters, but has struggled to adjust to life back in the Premier League after a decade’s absence.

The popular St Helens thrower averaged around the 94 mark in his opening two defeats, but showed significant improvement last time out, averaging 100.5 in a 6-4 defeat to Humphries at the 3Arena.

The action gets under way from 7pm GMT, with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
