Rusty-Jake Rodriguez and Dom Taylor sit top of the European and UK Development Tour Order of Merit respectively after the first six events of the season.

A memorable weekend for 20-year-old Rodriguez saw him pick up three titles as the 2021 PDC Development Tour campaign got under way.

The Austrian ace claimed the Event Two title in Niedernhausen on Friday and secured back-to-back triumphs in Event Five and Event Six to go unbeaten on Sunday.

His impressive £6,500 haul moves him almost £3,000 clear of nearest challenger Niels Zonneveld at the top of the European Development Tour Order of Merit with a further six events to come in November.

Zonneveld, who was whitewashed 5-0 by Rodriguez in the final of Event Five, had claimed the Event Four title on Saturday.

Jurjen van der Velde occupies third position, having triumphed in the opening event of the weekend and reached the Semi-Finals of Event Three.

Kevin Doets claimed glory in Event Three and remains in close order in fourth spot.

Bristol’s Taylor comfortably leads the way at the halfway stage of this year’s UK Development Tour after incredibly reaching the final of the first four events.

The 23-year-old prevailed over Jack Male in the final of Event Three but was forced to settle for the runner-up spot on a further three occasions.

He is followed in the UK Order of Merit by Liam Meek – winner of Event Four and Keelan Key – winner of Event Two and a semi-finalist in Event Four.

Reece Colley, Nathan Rafferty and Bradley Brooks also secured a title apiece across the weekend in Milton Keynes.

Each Development Tour event features players aged 16-23, with the overall Order of Merit winner of each tour securing a PDC Tour Card for 2022/23 and a place in the 2021/22 William Hill World Championship.

The Development Tour continues with UK Events 7-12 in Barnsley from October 29-31, while European Events 7-12 are set to be staged in Niedernhausen from November 5-7.
