Grand Slam of Darts 2023 Draw | Michael Smith and James Wade to meet in Group A

The draw for the group stage of the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts has been confirmed, with Michael Smith drawn alongside James Wade and Krzysztof Ratajski.
Thirty-two players will battle it out in the £650,000 ranked major at the Aldersley Leisure Village from November 11-19.
The field is comprised of televised tournament winners and finalists from over the past 12 months, as well as a series of qualifiers from the PDC circuit and affiliate circuits.
Michael Smith is the defending champion and number one seed, after he defeated Nathan Aspinall 16-5 in last year’s final to land his first major title.
Players are initially split into eight groups of four, with the top two players from each following the round-robin fixtures progressing to the knock-out phase.
Smith will start his title defence in Group A alongside three-time Grand Slam finalist James Wade, former World Master Krzysztof Ratajski and Scottish debutant Nathan Girvan.
Gerwyn Price, who has claimed this title on three occasions since 2018, is seeded number five and will be joined in Group D by Ryan Searle, Gian van Veen and Nathan Rafferty.
Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen is drawn in Group A alongside 2018 World Champion Rob Cross, debutant Martijn Kleermaker and 2021 quarter-finalist Fallon Sherrock.
European Champion Peter Wright, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up, will meet 2014 finalist Dave Chisnall, in-form Stephen Bunting and American newcomer Stowe Buntz in Group E.
Group C sees World Grand Prix champion Luke Humphries facing off against Dutch star Dirk van Duijvenbode, two-time World Champion Gary Anderson and Steve Lennon.
World Cup of Darts Jonny Clayton is housed in a formidable Group B alongside Masters champion Chris Dobey, 2022 World Youth champion Josh Rock and Challenge Tour Order of Merit winner Berry van Peer.
World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall leads Group H line-up which also includes Women’s World Matchplay champion Beau Greaves, Australian star Damon Heta and German Championship winner Ricardo Pietreczko.
Group F sees seventh seed Danny Noppert joined by UK Open champion Andrew Gilding, Brendan Dolan and Japanese debutant Haruki Muramatsu.
