Groups E-H draw to a close at the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton on Tuesday with a further five places in the knockout phase up for grabs.
Three players have already booked their place in the Last 16 following their opening two fixtures, leaving a host of big names to battle it out for the right to join them.
Defending champion Luke Littler is already assured of a place in the knockout phase and will look to clinch top spot in Group E by inflicting a third straight defeat on the eliminated Daryl Gurney.
Littler, who claimed his first major ranking title here 12 months ago, has extended his unbeaten run at the Grand Slam to nine matches by thrashing Karel Sedlacek 5-1 and averaging 105 in a 5-3 defeat of Connor Scutt.
Gurney, meanwhile, averaged just 81.5 in a 5-3 defeat to Sedlacek and is now playing for both pride and additional prize money as he aims to avoid finishing bottom of the group.
Czech debutant Sedlacek and an in-form Scutt will then go head-to-head in a straight shootout for a place in the knockout stages.
The same equation applies in Group G, with a mouth-watering shootout between three-time champion Michael van Gerwen and two-time finalist Gary Anderson.
Van Gerwen is bidding to avoid a second successive group stage exit, while Anderson is out to maintain his remarkable record of having progressed from the group in each of his 17 previous Grand Slam appearances.
Both players have closed out a narrow 5-4 win over Beau Greaves while also slipping to defeat at the hands of Niko Springer.
German debutant Springer is already assured of a Last 16 spot and would clinch the £3,500 group winner’s bonus if he can overcome three-time Women’s World Champion Greaves – who has averaged 101.5 and 102.5 in her two last-leg defeats so far.
Group H also features a straight shootout between debutants Cam Crabtree and Lukas Wenig.
Development Tour winner Crabtree averaged 102 in a 5-1 rout of Jonny Clayton on Saturday before being edged out 5-4 by Danny Noppert.
German ace Wenig, who came through the Tour Card holder qualifier, was also on the wrong end of a last-leg defeat to Noppert, before pulling off a shock 5-3 win over Clayton.
Sixth seed Clayton cannot qualify for the knockout phase but will be out to restore some pride when he faces current table-topper Noppert – who is through to the second round for the fourth year in a row.
Group F houses several permutations, with three of the four players still in contention for a Last 16 spot.
European Champion Gian van Veen leads the way with four points going into his clash with Josh Rock knowing that a win here or a defeat for Wessel Nijman would be enough to see him progress.
After averaging 109.2 in defeat to Nijman before whitewashing Lisa Ashton, Rock must now win or hope for a Nijman defeat to Ashton in order to go through.
A win for Nijman coupled with a win for Van Veen would see him reach the knockout phase for the first time, or alternatively a win coupled with a Rock victory and Van Veen and Ashton registering a combined total of six legs or fewer.
The action gets under way from 7pm GMT, with Group Stage matches to be contested over the best of nine legs.
