Live Darts on Saturday | Swiss Darts Trophy 2026 Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The seeded stars begin their 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy campaigns in the second round in Basel on Saturday.
The opening day of the season’s penultimate European Tour event saw the likes of Joe Cullen, Cameron Menzies and Andrew Gilding suffer early exits at the St. Jakobshalle.
Day Two sees the top 16 seeds enter the fray, with the afternoon’s line-up featuring a clash between former World Champion Rob Cross and Baltic Sea Darts Open champion Luke Woodhouse.
Cross, runner-up at the Slovak Darts Open earlier this year, registered the highest average of the first round (105.95) in his 6-3 success over Belgium’s Mario Vandenbogaerde.
Three-time European Tour event winner Martin Schindler has failed to progress beyond the second round stage in his last six Euro Tour outings, and the German number one starts out against ProTour semi-finalist Tom Bissell.
World Series of Darts Finals champion Ross Smith starts his quest for a third European Tour title of 2026 with a tie against Irish number one – William O’Connor.
Former World Championship semi-finalist Chris Dobey aims to put his torrid recent run of results behind him when he meets Bradley Brooks – who averaged 100.7 in a 6-4 scalp of Niels Zonneveld on Friday.
World Championship semi-finalist Ryan Searle, whose first European Tour final appearance came here two years ago, opens up against Spain’s Cristo Reyes – who recovered from 3-1 down to dump out Menzies in Round One.
Wessel Nijman, twice a European Tour event winner and a six-time ProTour event winner this season, faces a tricky opener against in-form Karel Sedlacek – who recently secured his maiden Players Championship title and averaged 100.2 in a 6-4 win over Sebastian Bialecki on Friday.
Home hopes rest on the shoulders of Stefan Bellmont as he aims to back up Friday’s comeback win over Andrew Gilding by pulling off what would be a seismic upset against European Open champion Krzysztof Ratajski.
Former European Championship finalist Jermaine Wattimena looks to avoid another early exit on the European Tour this season when he faces 2023 World Champion Michael Smith – who came from 3-1 down to dispatch Rob Owen in his opener.
The evening session sees Flanders Darts Trophy champion James Wade kick off his pursuit of back-to-back European Tour titles with a tie against World Matchplay semi-finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Less than a week after becoming World Grand Prix champion for the second time, Luke Humphries makes his return to action to face Austrian Open finalist Kevin Doets in arguably the stand-out fixture of the second round.
Michael van Gerwen, now ranked world number nine following his latest first round exit at the World Grand Prix, aims to secure a confidence-boosting win over former World Matchplay finalist Mensur Suljovic.
Third seed Jonny Clayton, runner-up at the Belgian Darts Open earlier this year, takes on Maik Kuivenhoven – who knocked out Raymond van Barneveld in Round One.
Stephen Bunting currently occupies the 32nd and final provisional European Championship spot, and the seventh seed will look to take another big step towards qualification by overcoming Sweden’s Jeffrey De Graaf.
Austrian Open champion Josh Rock bids to bounce back from his first round exit at the World Grand Prix when he meets eight-time European Tour event winner Dave Chisnall – who dumped out Alan Soutar in a deciding leg on Friday.
Reigning European Champion Gian van Veen continues to hunt down an elusive maiden European Tour title, and the world number three begins his latest campaign against former Hungarian Trophy winner Niko Springer.
Danny Noppert, runner-up in this season’s German Darts Grand Prix, takes on Aussie ace Damon Heta – a four-time semi-finalist on the European Tour this year.
The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with second round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
