International Darts Open 2025 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The top seeds begin their campaigns at the 2025 International Darts Open on Saturday as the Second Round commences in Riesa.
Day One of the season’s third European Tour event saw multiple ranking event winners Michael Smith and Ryan Searle subjected to early exits, as well as all four Host Nation qualifiers.
The Order of Merit seeds take to the stage at the SACHSENarena on Day Two as they bid to safely progress to Sunday’s Last 16.
World number one Luke Humphries launches his latest quest for a first European Tour title of the year when he faces two-time Euro Tour finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode – who averaged 101.7 in a 6-3 success over Niko Springer on Friday.
Gerwyn Price, who claimed a Players Championship title earlier this week and was runner-up on Night Nine of the Premier League on Thursday, faces a tough opener against World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker – who finished runner-up in last month’s Belgian Darts Open.
The evening session also sees former Premier League champions Jonny Clayton and Raymond van Barneveld go head-to-head, with Barney having averaged 103.4 in a 6-1 rout of Patrick Klingelhöfer in Round One.
Nathan Aspinall starts his quest for back-to-back European Tour titles following his recent European Darts Trophy triumph as he meets three-time Euro Tour event winner Joe Cullen.
Josh Rock, a Players Championship event winner earlier this week, faces Gian van Veen – who also picked up a Players Championship last month.
Former European Champion Peter Wright takes on reigning European Champion Ritchie Edhouse, while Richard Veenstra – who received a late call-up via the Reserve List – faces former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding.
The afternoon session features a showdown between Premier League star Chris Dobey and ProTour event winner Wessel Nijman.
Ross Smith, twice a Euro Tour finalist last year, faces home favourite Ricardo Pietreczko – a former German Championship winner.
Ten-time major winner James Wade, runner-up in last month’s UK Open, takes on Cameron Menzies – twice a ProTour event finalist already this season.
Stephen Bunting looks to pick up from where he left off in winning Night Nine of the Premier League in Berlin 48 hours ago when he meets Darius Labanauskas – who averaged 102.4 in a 6-3 scalp of Ryan Searle on Friday.
Sixth seed Dave Chisnall, twice a European Tour event winner last season, starts out against European Championship semi-finalist Luke Woodhouse.
Eighth seed Damon Heta opens up against Belgian veteran Mario Vandenbogaerde – who reeled off five consecutive legs from 4-1 down to dump out Callan Rydz in Round One.
Former UK Open champion Danny Noppert takes on Czech star Karel Sedlacek, while Thibault Tricole’s reward for his landmark victory over Michael Smith on Friday is a clash with two-time major winner Dimitri van den Bergh.
The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Second Round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
