The fifth European Tour silverware of the season is up for grabs in Leverkusen on Sunday as the final 16 vie for European Darts Open glory.

Twelve of the top 16 seeds are left standing at the Ostermann Arena, as well as a quartet of in-form qualifiers bidding to capture the £25,000 top prize.

The afternoon session plays host to the Third Round ties, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final take place in the evening.

The stand-out match of the Last 16 features a repeat of Thursday’s Premier League Night 13 final between Jonny Clayton and Michael van Gerwen.

Clayton came out on top 6-3 in Glasgow and will be eyeing a repeat performance as he bids to remain on course for a first Euro Tour title since 2018.

The Welshman, who swept aside Rowby-John Rodriguez in his opener on Saturday, comes up against the dominant force on the Euro Tour, with Van Gerwen having racked up a staggering 34 titles over the past decade.

Austrian Open champion a week ago, MVG is targeting his third European Tour title from five events so far this term and began in emphatic fashion with a 113.8 average in defeating Daryl Gurney 6-3.

The opening match of the afternoon sees world number two Gerwyn Price take on former UK Open champion Nathan Aspinall.

Price is looking to add this title to his International Open success in February as he continues his recovery from a hand injury which has hampered his progress in the Premier League of late.

Aspinall, four times a winner on the ProTour, is chasing down a maiden Euro Tour crown and began with a 6-2 win over Czech qualifier Karel Sedlacek on Saturday.

Joe Cullen, twice a European Tour winner, faces an explosive clash with recent ProTour event winner Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Cullen swept aside his close friend Devon Petersen 6-1 on Saturday, while Van Duijvenbode overcame Dutch compatriot Maik Kuivenhoven by the same scoreline.

Luke Humphries is looking to add this title to his German Darts Grand Prix crown last month and comes up against ninth seed Brendan Dolan in the Last 16.

Dolan averaged 103.6 in a 6-0 whitewash of Andrew Gilding in Round Two, while Humphries saw off Darren Penhall 6-2 with an impressive 99.6 average.

Two players entering uncharted territory go head-to-head as Scott Williams takes on Josh Rock for a place in the Quarter-Finals of a Euro Tour event for the first time.

Challenge Tour leader Williams, an Associate Member qualifier, has enjoyed a dream debut this weekend, knocking out Adam Gawlas and world number one Peter Wright.

Northern Irish youngster Rock, meanwhile, has continued his superb start to life on the PDC circuit, whitewashing Connor Scutt before thrashing Krzysztof Ratajski 6-2 with a 101.7 average.

Premier League star James Wade, who averaged 102.2 in his 6-1 rout of Berry van Peer on Saturday, now comes up against last year’s Premier League runner-up – Jose de Sousa.

World number nine Dimitri Van den Bergh aims to spoil the party in Leverkusen by ending the hopes of German ace Martin Schindler – who knocked out European Champion Rob Cross in Round Two.

Top 16 stars Dave Chisnall and Ryan Searle also go head-to-head, having both averaged above 100 in their victories on Saturday over Damon Heta and Krzysztof Kciuk respectively.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Third Round and Quarter-Final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, Semi-Finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
