European Darts Grand Prix 2026 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The seeded players commence their European Darts Grand Prix campaigns under way in Sindelfingen on Saturday as the Second Round takes centre stage.
The opening day of the season’s fifth European Tour event saw the likes of Niels Zonneveld, Daryl Gurney, Rob Cross, Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld all unceremoniously dumped out of the tournament at the first hurdle.
The 16 seeds enter the fray in Round Two as they bid to get off and running in front of a bumper crowd at the Glaspalast.
The afternoon session sees reigning champion Gary Anderson launch the defence of his title with a clash against home hero Niko Springer.
Anderson is bidding to become the first player to claim his title on three consecutive occasions, having also triumphed in 2024, but the world number nine is tasked with a tricky opener.
Springer, last year’s Hungarian Darts Trophy winner, reached the quarter-finals of the recent European Darts Trophy and began his campaign here by thrashing Austrian debutant Robin Masino 6-1.
Meanwhile, European Darts Trophy champion Wessel Nijman faces a showdown with World Championship semi-finalist Ryan Searle.
Nijman made it a hat-trick of Players Championship titles for the season earlier this week and opened up with a 6-2 win over Ian White here on Friday afternoon.
Stephen Bunting, twice a European Tour event winner last season, opens up with a tie against former Grand Slam semi-finalist Mickey Mansell – who dumped out Rob Cross in Round One.
Former World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker meets Polish number one Krzysztof Ratajski, while former UK Open champion Danny Noppert starts out against Sweden’s Oskar Lukasiak – who punished a miserable display from Gurney to edge through a last-leg decider on Friday night.
Two in-form Dutchmen go head-to-head as multiple ProTour event winner Jermaine Wattimena faces German Darts Grand Prix semi-finalist Kevin Doets.
Chris Dobey, who claimed his second Players Championship title of the year on Monday, looks to continue his blistering run of form when he faces former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding.
Josh Rock, who picked up his fourth Premier League win of the season on Thursday, takes on former UK Open semi-finalist Keane Barry – who produced two ton-plus finishes on the way to a 6-3 win over Zonneveld in his opener.
The evening session sees nine-time European Tour event winner Gerwyn Price take on eight-time European Tour winner Dave Chisnall.
Nathan Aspinall, German Darts Grand Prix champion a fortnight ago, starts his bid for back-to-back European Tour titles with a tie against former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey De Zwaan – who saw off Peter Wright in Round One.
German number one Martin Schindler aims to kick-start what has been a torrid season so far when he faces Aussie number one Damon Heta.
Michael van Gerwen, champion here in 2026 and 2018, takes on two-time Lakeside semi-finalist Michael Unterbuchner – who knocked out Willie O’Connor in the opening round.
UK Open finalist and world number six James Wade comes up against a resurgent Kim Huybrechts – who dispatched Dirk van Duijvenbode in his opener.
Premier League leader Jonny Clayton, who picked up a fourth weekly title of the campaign in Rotterdam on Thursday, starts out against Latvian outsider Valters Melderis – who stunned Karel Sedlacek in a deciding leg.
Reigning European Champion Gian van Veen starts his latest quest for a maiden European Tour title when he faces three-time European Tour event winner Joe Cullen.
Former European Champion Ross Smith aims to avert an early exit at the hands of Cameron Menzies – who averaged 104.5 in a 6-3 win over Van Barneveld on Friday.
The action gets under way from 12pm GMT, with second round matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
