The final European Tour silverware of the season is up for grabs at the 2024 Czech Darts Open in Prague on Sunday.

A £30,000 top prize is on offer at the PVA Expo as seven seeds and nine qualifiers go head-to-head across two sessions.

The afternoon session plays host to the Third Round ties, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final follow in the evening.

Following the Czech Darts Open, the 32-player field for next week’s European Championship will be confirmed, with two places still to be determined.

Nathan Aspinall and Dirk van Duijvenbode currently occupy the final two provisional qualification places, though Niels Zonneveld, Alan Soutar, Kim Huybrechts and Pavel Drtil still harbour outside hopes of forcing their way into the field.

Zonneveld leads the chasing pack but must reach the final in Prague in order to secure qualification, with his first test on Sunday coming against former German Championship winner Ricardo Pietreczko in the Last 16.

Soutar, along with the other three contenders, must win the title in order to reach the European Championship, and he faces a formidable task in the Last 16 against Michael van Gerwen.

Van Gerwen, who has claimed the Hungarian Darts Trophy title and two Players Championships within the last month, averaged 104.5 in a 6-4 victory over Krzysztof Ratajski on Saturday, while Soutar edged out Ross Smith in the deciding leg of a gripping contest which featured six 180s apiece.

Luke Littler is chasing down a third European Tour title of the year, and the 17-year-old sensation takes on a player he has faced three times already on the European Tour this season – Damon Heta.

Littler produced a sensational opening salvo by setting a new tournament record average of 110.43 in a 6-1 rout of Nathan Aspinall in Round Two.

The Premier League champion has won all three of his European Tour clashes with Heta after the Australian knocked him out of the UK Open back in March.

Meanwhile, world number one Luke Humphries resumes his bid for a second European Tour title of the campaign when he meets PDC World Youth finalist Gian van Veen.

Humphries, who fell narrowly short of defending the World Grand Prix title in the final last Sunday, averaged 100.7 in a commanding 6-2 win over Ritchie Edhouse.

Van Veen, meanwhile, powered past James Wade 6-2 with a 97.4 average in his opener and is eyeing a second European Tour final of the season after finishing runner-up in the recent Hungarian Darts Trophy.

Newly-crowned World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker faces arguably this season’s stand-out performer on the European Tour – Martin Schindler.

De Decker has seemingly picked up from where he left off in Leicester by thrashing Brett Claydon 6-1 and whitewashing Danny Noppert with successive ton-plus averages.

Schindler, twice a European Tour event winner this year and provisional number one seed for the European Championship, dethroned reigning champion Peter Wright with a crushing 6-1 victory and an average of 103.

Five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld, winner of a ProTour event in 2024, faces his Dutch compatriot Jermaine Wattimena.

Van Barneveld followed up a 6-0 whitewash of Daryl Gurney with a hard-fought 6-4 success over Maik Kuivehoven to make it successive Last 16 appearances on the European Tour.

Wattimena took out 141 in the deciding leg to edge out Patrik Kovacs in Round One, before sensationally whitewashing Chris Dobey with a 107.4 average.

Former Premier League champion Jonny Clayton takes on 2023 World Champion Michael Smith, with both having registered ton-plus averages in seeing off Stephen Bunting and Ryan Searle 6-3 respectively.

Pavel Drtil aims to continue his remarkable debut run when he comes up against Belgian ace Kim Huybrechts.

The host nation qualifier has already dumped out Joe Cullen and Josh Rock and will be poised for another roof-raising reception from a sell-out crowd as he looks to halt ‘The Hurricane’.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Third Round and Quarter-Final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, Semi-Finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
