The 2022 Czech Darts Open gets under way in Prague on Friday as the 32 qualifiers battle it out in Round One.

The sixth of 13 PDC Euro Tour events this season features 48 players battling it out for £140,000 in prize money at the Královka Arena from May 13-15.

The top 16 players from the ProTour Order of Merit (as of March 29) are seeded and enter at the Second Round stage on Saturday, while 32 qualifiers battle it out for the right to join them.

The afternoon session kicks off with a clash between German Darts Grand Prix runner-up Martin Lukeman and Associate Member Qualifier Martijn Dragt.

Two-time BDO World Champion Scott Waites faces a tricky opener tie against World Cup of Darts finalist Rowby-John Rodriguez – with Michael Smith awaiting the winner.

Former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan takes on former ProTour event winner Mickey Mansell, while Welshman Jon Worsley and Host Nation qualifier Vítězslav Sedlák collide for the right to face Michael van Gerwen in Round Two.

One of the stand-out ties of the opening round sees former Euro Tour finalist Ricky Evans take on Northern Irish star Josh Rock – quarter-finalist in last week’s European Darts Open.

Spain’s Jose Justicia takes on Host Nation hopeful Miloslav Navrátil, while America’s Jules van Dongen marks his Euro Tour debut with a clash against Brett Claydon.

Ritchie Edhouse opens up against Czech qualifier Ondřej Plšek – who also featured in the inaugural Czech Open three years ago.

The evening session sees two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis mark his return to the European Tour with a tie against World Youth Champion Ted Evetts for the right to face Thursday’s Premier League winner Gerwyn Price.

Former UK Open champion Nathan Aspinall – quarter-finalist in Leverkusen last week – starts out against World Cup winner John Henderson – who is vying to retain his Tour Card this season.

Dutch ace Martijn Kleermaker faces a tough opener against Polish teenage sensation Sebastian Bialecki – who reached the Quarter-Finals of the UK Open back in March.

German number one Gabriel Clemens takes on Czech number two Karel Sedlacek in front of an expectant Prague crowd, while Czech number one Adam Gawlas hosts Associate Member Qualifier Dennie Olde Kalter.

An all-Dutch affair sees former UK Open finalist Vincent van der Voort take on three-time Development Tour winner Geert Nentjes, while two-time Euro Tour event winner Dave Chisnall faces debutant Czech qualifier Filip Šebesta.

Germany’s Florian Hempel, who reached the Last 16 of the 2021 European Championship, opens up with a tie against former ProTour event winner Ross Smith.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with First Round matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
