Belgian Darts Open 2026 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The seeded players begin their Belgian Darts Open campaigns in Wieze on Saturday as the Second Round takes centre stage.
The opening day of the season’s third European Tour event saw last weekend’s European Darts Trophy winner Wessel Nijman bow out alongside the likes of Krzysztof Ratajski, Joe Cullen and Raymond van Barneveld.
The 16 seeds enter the fray in the second round as they bid to get off and running in front of a bumper crowd at the Oktoberhallen.
The afternoon session includes a showdown between eighth seed Danny Noppert, a three-time European Tour event finalist, and last year’s Swiss Darts Trophy runner-up – Luke Woodhouse.
Two-time major winner Nathan Aspinall, a three-time European Tour event winner in 2025, starts out against last year’s European Darts Trophy finalist Ryan Joyce.
Former European Champion Ross Smith resumes his latest quest for a maiden European Tour title with a tie against multiple ProTour event winner Cameron Menzies.
World Championship semi-finalist Ryan Searle opens up with a tie against crowd favourite Ricky Evans – who saw off Scott Williams 6-2 in Friday’s opening round.
Three-time European Tour event winner Martin Schindler takes on two-time finalist William O’Connor, while Australian number one Damon Heta meets two-time major winner Daryl Gurney.
Tenth seed Chris Dobey faces a tough opener against eight-time European Tour winner Dave Chisnall, while Jermaine Wattimena – twice a ProTour event winner last season – opens up against methodical left-hander Ryan Meikle.
The evening session sees reigning champion Luke Littler launch his pursuit of a third consecutive Belgian Darts Open title with a tie against Croatia’s Boris Krcmar.
Top seed Littler is ten matches unbeaten in this competition and is vying for a second European Tour triumph of the year, having captured the Poland Darts Open title last month.
Soft-tip star Krcmar opened up with an emphatic 6-1 rout of Raymond van Barneveld on Friday, averaging 101.2 in the process.
Meanwhile, Premier League champion Luke Humphries begins his bid for a ninth European Tour title with a tasty tie against three-time runner-up Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Michael van Gerwen, the most decorated player in European Tour history, faces a tricky opener against methodical Northern Irishman Mickey Mansell – who dispatched Michael Smith 6-3 in a frosty encounter on Friday.
Former World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker, runner-up in this event a year ago, looks to delight his home crowd once again when he faces in-form Niels Zonneveld – semi-finalist in last week’s European Darts Trophy.
UK Open finalist James Wade looks to continue his superb start to the season when he takes on a resurgent Cristo Reyes – who averaged 102 in a 6-4 win over Ratajski in Round One.
Fifth seed Stephen Bunting looks to silence the partisan home crowd when he comes up against former WDF World Champion Andy Baetens – who came from 4-2 down to deny Cullen in a last-leg decider on Friday.
Josh Rock, who sits bottom of the Premier League after seven straight defeats but reached the semi-finals of the UK Open, takes on home favourite Kim Huybrechts – who averaged 101.7 in seeing off Niko Springer in Round One.
Meanwhile, Premier League leader Jonny Clayton – a three-time European Tour event winner – starts out against Polish youngster Sebastian Bialecki – who dumped out Nijman in Round One.
The action gets under way from 12pm GMT, with second round matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
