Gary Anderson and Wesley Harms have denied passing wind on the Grand Slam of Darts stage despite accusing each other of foul play.
Anderson breezed past the BDO ace 10-2 to book his place in the Quarter-Finals at the Aldersley Leisure Village on Thursday.
Harms, however, revealed in an interview with RTL7 that he noticed a “fragrant smell” on the stage, which he believed to have been left by Anderson.
Anderson, though, vigorously denies the claims, suggesting it was Harms who dealt the unpleasant smell at the drinks table.
“I thought he had sh*t and I went, “that’s dirty!” Anderson told RTL7.
“It was bad. It was a stink, I thought it was him.
“Then he started to play better and I thought he must have needed to get some wind out.
“It definitely came from table-side and it was eggs, rotten eggs, but not from me.
“Every time I walked past there was a waft of rotten eggs so that’s why I was thinking it was him.”
Anderson will be eyeing the sweet smell of victory when he faces Germany’s Michael Unterbuchner in the Quarter-Finals on Saturday.
