Bet365 are offering new customers £30 in free bets on the Community Shield when signing up and placing a £10 bet.
The new English season begins with a fixture that feels far more significant than a traditional curtain-raiser. Premier League champions Arsenal face FA Cup winners Manchester City at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Sunday, with both clubs looking to lay down an early marker.
For Arsenal, the occasion is an opportunity to celebrate a breakthrough campaign while signalling that last season’s title was the beginning rather than the end of their ambitions. Mikel Arteta’s side finally ended a 22-year wait for the Premier League trophy and have strengthened further, most notably with the arrival of Bruno Guimarães. Arteta has also confirmed that Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Martin Zubimendi are available, although William Saliba remains sidelined and Jurrien Timber is still working his way back to fitness.
City, meanwhile, begin a new era. Pep Guardiola’s departure means this will be Enzo Maresca’s first competitive match in charge, adding another layer of intrigue to an already heavyweight encounter. The FA Cup winners remain packed with attacking quality, and Erling Haaland is expected to feature after returning from his post-World Cup break. Yet the absence of Rodri, who is beginning his rehabilitation, could leave Maresca with an early tactical challenge against an Arsenal midfield built for control and intensity.
The match also offers an intriguing contrast in managerial continuity. Arteta has spent years shaping Arsenal’s identity, while Maresca must begin establishing his own version of City after Guardiola’s extraordinary reign. That makes the result less important than the clues it may provide about how both teams intend to play.
The unusual Cardiff setting should add to the occasion. Wembley is unavailable because of pre-planned concerts, so the Principality Stadium hosts the Shield for the first time since 2006.
Arsenal may have the greater continuity, but City have the experience of winning this fixture and the individual quality to punish any uncertainty. Expect an intense, tactical opening to the campaign—and potentially the first chapter of another major rivalry.

Jonny Clayton claimed a maiden New Zealand Darts Masters title with an 8-4 victory over Gerwyn Price in the final in Auckland on Saturday.
The Welshman celebrated his second World Series title courtesy of a trio of terrific performances at the Spark Arena, overcoming Gian van Veen, James Wade and Price to clinch the crown.
Clayton lost out to Price in the 2022 final in Hamilton, but gained revenge against his World Cup partner in front of a 5,000-strong crowd in Auckland.
The 51-year-old was irrepressible in the opening stages of Saturday’s showpiece, landing checkouts of 72, 158, 80 and 62 to establish a commanding 5-1 lead.
Clayton capitalised on some errant doubling from Price to extend his advantage to 7-1, before defying a three-leg flurry from his compatriot to seal the deal with a magnificent 124 checkout on the bull.
“It was great to play in the final with my World Cup partner,” reflected Clayton, who recovered from 4-2 down to edge past Haupai Puha on Friday.
“It just shows that two rugby boys can play darts, and to play against each other in the world of rugby here in New Zealand, I’ve got a smile on my face.
“I really enjoyed that. It’s 1-1 now, so next year – winner takes all!
“I’m looking forward to Wollongong next week. Hopefully the sun will shine on me and I can lift another trophy!”
Clayton began Saturday’s action with an impressive 6-3 success against top seed Gian van Veen, converting six of his seven attempts at doubles to cap off a clinical display.
The world number five was similarly ruthless in his semi-final demolition of James Wade, averaging just shy of 99 and pinning 70 per cent of his attempts at the outer ring to complete a 7-2 rout.
Price, meanwhile, swept aside Australian duo Damon Heta and Raymond Smith to book his place in a first World Series final of the year, having eased past Mark Cleaver in Friday’s opening round.
“I wasn’t great there. I missed a load of doubles, but take nothing away from Jonny – he played brilliantly,” admitted Price.
“For me just to win one game this week was fantastic with all the sh*t I’ve gone through.
“The flight out here and everything that’s gone on, to get to a final, big tap on my back and I’ll be even better next week in Australia.”
Earlier in the night, Smith prevailed in his all-Australian quarter-final against Adam Leek, averaging almost 97 and converting 60 per cent of his attempts at doubles to cap off a polished display.
The evening’s other quarter-final clash saw Wade win through a topsy-turvy clash against Josh Rock, producing a 12-dart break to seal his place in a second New Zealand Masters semi-final.
Saturday August 15
8am-12pm
Quarter-Finals
Gian van Veen 3-6 Jonny Clayton
James Wade 6-4 Josh Rock
Gerwyn Price 6-2 Damon Heta
Raymond Smith 6-3 Adam Leek
Semi-Finals

Gerwyn Price 7-2 Raymond Smith
Final

Fairplay are offering new customers £10 in free bets when registering an account with promo code LD10 and placing a £10 bet.
Fairplay is an online sportsbook that has gained attention for its promotional welcome offers and broad sports coverage. It markets itself as a modern betting platform with a straightforward welcome offer — where new customers who stake £10 on a qualifying bet at specified odds receive £10 in free bet tokens once that first bet settles.
This type of introductory incentive is easy to understand and can provide value for new users wanting to explore markets without committing too much initial stake. Fairplay also offers standard features like in‑play betting, multiple market types (match results, totals, handicaps, and specials), and support for core sports such as darts, football, horse racing and tennis, making it resemble a typical online bookmaker in structure.
The user interface is designed to be accessible, with live markets and clear bet slips available on desktop and mobile, and payment methods generally include major debit cards for deposits and withdrawals. The platform’s focus on ongoing promotions and bonus tokens aims to keep existing customers engaged beyond the sign‑up period.
While Fairplay may appear to offer competitive promotions and a familiar sports betting experience, prospective users should approach with caution. Its controversial user feedback and mixed payout reliability suggest it may not provide the consistent, trouble‑free service expected from more established UK bookmakers.
New customers at Fairplay can unlock the £10 free bets offer by signing up through the link provided using the promo code LD10 and placing a first bet of £10 or more at odds of EVS (2.0) or above.
How to claim this offer:

The platform covers a range of sports, including darts, football, horse racing, tennis, cricket, and major global events, offering both pre‑match and in‑play markets. While its market depth may not match the largest legacy bookmakers, Dabble’s focus is on making betting more fun and accessible, with features that encourage engagement beyond traditional odds and markets.
A key draw for new users is Dabble’s welcome offer, which usually rewards first‑time customers with free bet tokens or bonus credits once a qualifying stake is placed at specified minimum odds. These incentives help newcomers explore the breadth of available markets with added value up front. Beyond the sign‑up offer, the platform often runs ongoing promotions like boosted odds on selected fixtures, accumulator enhancements, and time‑limited specials tied to big sports events, which aim to reward regular users and keep the betting experience lively.

Public feedback on Dabble tends to highlight the platform’s fresh approach and ease of use, especially for casual bettors who value simplicity and fun features.
