Launched in 2000, Betfair is among the UK’s best and most respected betting sites. It cemented this position in 2016 when it merged with Paddy Power and other leading brands to form Flutter Entertainment, under which it now operates.
In this review I’ll cover all of the essential information our readers should know about this sportsbook before they sign up, including bonuses, betting features, darts and other sports markets, payment methods and more. We’ll start with the sign-up offer: £50 in free bets when you wager your first £10.
Betfair Sign Up Offer Explained
When you open an account with Betfair and deposit a minimum of £10, you’ll be given £50 in free bets after you wager your first deposit on the site’s sportsbook. These free bets are distributed in the form of bet builders, accumulators and multiples, giving punters a range of betting options.
Betfair Offer Terms and Conditions
There are strings attached to the free bets, as there are with all sportsbook bonuses. Take a look at the list of T&Cs below to give yourself the best chance of turning the free bets into withdrawable cash:
- Minimum Deposit and Bet — Customers must deposit a minimum of £10 into their Betfair account and then wager that amount on the sportsbook.
- Promo Code — This offer is only available to those who sign up using the promo code ZSKAOG.
- Minimum Odds — The qualifying bet must be placed on an event with minimum odds of 1/1.
- Time Limits — Customers have 30 days to use their free bets once they’ve been credited.
- Payment Restrictions — Only those making their first deposit via a debit card or Apple Pay will be eligible for the welcome offer.
- Bet Restrictions — The qualifying bet must be placed on the Betfair Sportsbook, as opposed to the Betfair Exchange marketplace.
- Cash Out — Those who cash out their qualifying bets will not be eligible for the free bets.
What is the Betfair Sign Up Offer Promo Code
Customers must enter the promo code ZSKAOG during the registration process in order to receive Betfair’s welcome offer.

Betfair Bonuses and Promotions for Existing Customers
All betting sites offer a welcome bonus, but the best sportsbooks follow this up with a string of promotions available for existing customers. You’ll receive a range of offers across your time as a Betfair member targeting a variety of sports and markets. The below sections highlight the best offers at the time of my review.
Horse Racing Free Bets
Betfair is one of the best horse racing betting sites around, not least because it consistently offers customers free bets on the latest meets. There were two of these promotions on offer during my review: one completely free £1 bet, and another worth up to £10 when placing a multiple bet.
Refer and Earn
If you successfully refer a friend to join Betfair — that is, if you send a referral link to a mate and they subsequently sign up and wager £10 — you’ll receive £10 in cash. Customers can do this five times.
Daily Prize Wheel
Spin Betfair’s Daily Prize Wheel completely for free for a chance to win free spins in the Betfair casino and bonus cash. If you’re lucky enough to trigger the daily jackpot round, you could be in with a chance to win thousands.
Betfair Review
There’s no doubt about Betfair’s place at the top of the UK’s betting landscape: an excellent welcome offer; outstanding odds across the board, particularly on darts events; fantastic betting features including livestreaming and bet builders; a fantastic mobile app; 24/7 live chat support; and an abundance of banking options. I’ve reviewed these individual areas in the sections below.
If I were to make one complaint it would be in relation to the number of sports available to bet on. Although 29 sports markets is a decent number, there are more categories available at other sites. What matters most here is that market depth is sufficient within the most popular sports, and that’s certainly no problem at Betfair.
Betfair Sports and Markets
Betfair has 29 different sports available to bet on, as well as non-sporting categories such as Politics and Current Affairs. Some of these categories — such as football, horse racing and tennis — offer live and pre-match markets and odds on hundreds of events.
Darts fans are also well-served. Selecting this market opens up a list of the day’s matches, those taking place within the next 48 hours, and significant competitions in the near future. Betfair was taking bets on the World Series, the MODUS Super Series and the 2025 PDC World Championship during my review.
Betfair Odds
Betfair is famous for offering outstanding odds across the board, but it’s important to understand how the market differs when betting on the sportsbook and on the exchange. The Betfair Exchange offers superior odds, but Betfair will take a cut of any winnings.
The Betfair Exchange acts independently of the sportsbook. In the latter, you’ll still find excellent odds on the darts and any other sport. Take a look at how Betfair’s outright odds on the winner of the 2025 PDC World Champs compares to PaddyPower in the table below.
Player | Betfair Bet Odds | PaddyPower Odds |
Luke Humphries | 10/3 | 3/1 |
Luke Littler | 5/2 | 9/4 |
Michael van Gerwen | 6/1 | 6/1 |
Gerwyn Price | 14/1 | 10/1 |
Michael Smith | 14/1 | 11/1 |
Rob Cross | 18/1 | 16/1 |
Stephen Bunting | 33/1 | 22/1 |
Betfair Mobile App
Betfair’s mobile app is available to anyone with an iOS or Android mobile device. Of all the betting apps I’ve tested, this is the most intuitive: the headline offers are highlighted in yellow at the top of the page; today’s Featured Events appear below, directing punters towards the biggest sports fixtures taking place that day; directly underneath are the most popular multiples being placed that day. Without having to make any decisions, the Betfair mobile app throws up all the most relevant betting information on any given day.
Betfair In-Play Betting
Betfair’s in-play betting features are comprehensive, with livestreaming available on selected football, tennis and horse and greyhound racing events. Livestreaming allows punters to watch the action directly through their Betfair accounts, completely for free.
Bettors also have the option to cash out — an in-play betting feature that enables punters to secure an early payout on an active bet, or to cut losses on one that’s not gone to plan. Cash out is powered by dynamic in-play betting markets which fluctuate in response to the action taking place in that exact moment.
Betfair Bet Builder
I’m a regular user of Betfair’s bet builder, particularly for football events, where punters can select from 23 individual markets on any given match. If you’re short on inspiration, Betfair publishes a Popular Bet Builders section on the homepage, displaying the most favoured picks from other Betfair customers.
Betfair User Experience and Site Design
Betfair’s interface is clean and easy to read; although you might think that’s a given at a betting site, you’d be surprised to see how often this isn’t the case. The yellow and black colour scheme is striking enough to highlight the most important information on sports, betting markets, odds and promotions, making it easy for users to know where to go next.
Betfair Customer Support
The best betting sites offer customer support services 24/7, which is exactly what you get at Betfair through its live chat facility. There’s also a detailed FAQs page for common queries, or the option to get in touch via X (formerly Twitter) @BetfairCS. The X channel is monitored between the hours of 8am and 11pm every day.
Betfair Payment Methods
Betfair offers a number of different payment methods for both deposits and withdrawals. We lay these out in the table below.

Responsible Gambling at Betfair
The promotion of responsible gambling practices is a cornerstone of UKGC regulations. Betfair encourages these practices across the site, particularly in its Safer Gambling section, where you’ll find information on supportive tools such as deposit limits, time limits, loss limits, time outs and self-exclusion.
Betfair also points customers towards a number of gambling charities and organisations, including GAMSTOP, GamCare, GambleAware, Samaritans and Gordon Moody. If you or someone you know is struggling with their gambling habits, these organisations offer free, confidential and professional support.
Should You Sign Up to Betfair?
You’ll frankly struggle to find a betting site that performs better than Betfair. With an abundance of ongoing promotions, excellent odds on darts and other sports, livestreaming facilities, a mobile app and 24/7 customer support, there’s no doubt that Betfair is among the very best on offer here in the UK.
