WDF World Championship 2026 Field | Seeds and Qualifiers confirmed for Lakeside

The field of players for the 2026 WDF World Championship has been confirmed ahead of this year’s Lakeside showpiece.

The fifth staging of the WDF World Championship will take place from November 27 to December 6 at the historic Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, featuring a total prize fund of £223,500 across the four categories.

The men’s draw features the top 16 players in the WDF World Rankings seeded, headed by teenage sensation Mitchell Lawrie – who finished runner-up to Jimmy van Schie in last year’s competition.

Jenson Walker, 20, is the number two seed, ahead of Germany’s Paul Krohne – the 2026 Dutch Open champion.

American ace Leonard Gates, a multiple former World Seniors event winner, is the number four seed, while the seeded contingent also includes former PDC Tour Card holders Matthew Edgar, Ross Montgomery and Brian Raman, as well as former WDF World Champion Neil Duff.

New Zealand’s Haupai Puha and Canada’s Jeff Smith, also former Tour Card holders, are amongst the players ranked 17-32, as well as Germany’s Liam Maendl-Lawrance.

Ron Meulenkamp, David Davies and Japanese duo Tomoya Goto and Ryusei Azemoto – who have all competed in the PDC World Championship in recent years – are among the players ranked 33-48.

Deta Hedman returns as the defending women’s World Champion and number one seed, having won the Las Vegas Open, Denmark Open and Toronto Area Open this year.

Irish Open and Hungarian Masters winner Rhian O’Sullivan is the number two seed, ahead of Dutch Open winner Priscilla Steenbergen.

Last year’s runner-up Lerena Rietbergen is among the players ranked 9-16, as well as Italy’s Aurora Fochesato and Scotland’s Lorraine Hyde.

The boy’s event will see Lawrie looking to successfully defend his title in a high quality 12-player field which also includes rising stars Kaya Baysal and Mason Teese.

Paige Pauling is the number one seed in the Girls’ draw, while Turkey’s Zehra Gemi bids to retain the title.

Players that have qualified for both the PDC and WDF World Championships but elected to play at Ally Pally have been removed from the qualification list and replaced in line with WDF criteria.

The draw will be conducted at 7pm GMT on Tuesday November 3 on the WDF YouTube channel.
