Netflix Beat Luke Littler Odds | The Nuke odds-on to be beaten in £501,000 shootout
Luke Littler is odds-on to suffer defeat in Netflix’s brand new ‘Beat Luke Littler’ event on Friday.
Netflix is bringing darts to a global audience with ‘Beat Luke Littler’ – a live sporting spectacle that gives challengers the chance to win a life-changing £501,000 by defeating the world number one
The one-off show takes place on Friday, October 30 at 7pm GMT, streaming exclusively on Netflix from Manchester Central. It stars 19-year-old darts sensation Littler – who must defend his reputation against a succession of hopeful opponents.
The concept is straightforward – challengers must beat Littler in a single leg of 501 to claim the huge £501,000 jackpot – a prize second only to winning the World Championship.
Unlike traditional tournaments, contestants do not need to win an entire match. Just one successful leg against the reigning World Champion is enough to secure the lucrative jackpot.
A total of 24 contestants have been selected, with 20 progressing to face Littler. The competition ends immediately if somebody beats him. If Littler defeats every challenger, nobody claims the jackpot.
The line-up features players aged between 14 and 57, selected following auditions held in London and Manchester last month.
Competitors include students, a bin worker, a restaurant manager and former military personnel. However, the show’s ‘amateur’ billing has attracted criticism because several contestants have significant competitive experience.
Among the best-known challengers are Fallon Sherrock, who made history by defeating male opponents at the PDC World Championship, and talented Scottish youngster Mitchell Lawrie – runner-up in last year’s WDF World Championship at Lakeside.
Former England footballer and broadcaster Gary Lineker hosts the programme, with television personality Richard Osman providing statistical analysis, while comedian Lee Mack and influencer Angry Ginge also feature in the broadcast.
The bookmakers are anticipating a challenger to come out victorious, with Betfred offering 1/4 for any player to topple The Nuke.
Current WDF number one Lawrie is 7/4 favourite to scoop the life-changing top prize, ahead of Ashley Coleman – the number 34 on the PDC Challenge Tour, who is 2/1.
Jacob Gwynne, who has previously faced Littler in the World Youth Championship, is priced at 11/4, while MODUS-managed 14-year-old Jayden Walker is a 3/1 prospect.
Former Women’s World Matchplay champion Sherrock is 10/3 to prevail, should she be successful in the fan vote to take on The Nuke.
