The curtain comes down on the 2026 European Tour as the Dutch Darts Championship reaches its climax in Maastricht on Sunday.

Twelve seeds and four qualifiers remain in the running for the final Euro Tour silverware of the season at a sold-out MECC Maastricht.

The afternoon session plays host to the Last 16 ties, before the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final follow in the evening.

Gian van Veen made history on Saturday night by setting a new record European Tour average of 120.24 in a ten-minute whitewash of Sebastian Bialecki.

The reigning European Champion now looks to back up that incredible display on home soil when he faces Brendan Dolan in the opening tie of the afternoon.

Dolan received a late call-up via the reserve list following the withdrawal of Rob Cross, and the veteran Northern Irishman took full advantage by reeling off five legs on the spin from 3-1 down to deny Heine Uuldriks.

Number two seed Gerwyn Price resumes his quest for a second European Tour title of the season with a clash against home favourite Niels Zonneveld.

Price, runner-up in the last three major tournaments, averaged 97 in a 6-3 win over Scott Williams in his opener, while Zonneveld has already seen off Mike De Decker and Krzysztof Ratajski, landing seven 180s in each of those victories.

Ross Smith will head to Dortmund next week as the number one seed for the European Championship, and he resumes his bid for a third European Tour title of the season with a showdown against former European Tour finalist Ryan Searle.

Wessel Nijman, who has also picked up a brace of European Tour titles this year, is one of five Dutchmen still standing in the competition, and he now meets Spain’s Cristo Reyes – who averaged 110 in dismantling Chris Dobey on Saturday.

Damon Heta, who tore up the form book by dethroning defending champion Jonny Clayton with a 6-1 rout in Round Two, aims to back up that blistering display when he takes on German number one Martin Schindler – who is appearing at this stage of a European Tour event for the first time since May.

Four-time European Tour event winner Nathan Aspinall aims to follow up Saturday’s ruthless 6-1 rout of Michael Smith when he faces Stephen Bunting – whose win over Cameron Menzies was enough to clinch European Championship qualification despite an abject season on this particular circuit.

William O’Connor landed a trio of ton-plus checkouts on his way to a terrific deciding-leg win over home hero Michael van Gerwen on Saturday, and the in-form Irishman now takes on Baltic Sea Darts Open champion Luke Woodhouse.

At least one Dutchman is guaranteed to feature in the evening’s quarter-finals, as fifth seed Danny Noppert and 12th seed Jermaine Wattimena go head-to-head, with both eyeing their first European Tour trophy.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Last 16 and quarter-final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, semi-finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
