The seeded players commence their 2026 Czech Darts Open campaigns in the second round in Prague on Saturday.

The opening day of the season’s 12th European Tour event saw a host of big names bow out at the first hurdle, including former World Champion Rob Cross and a shockingly below-par Dirk van Duijvenbode.

The top 16 seeds enter the fray on Day Two as they bid to reach Sunday’s Last 16 and cement a place in October’s European Championship.

The afternoon session features a showdown between former UK Open champions Nathan Aspinall and Andrew Gilding.

Aspinall picked up his fourth European Tour title at the German Darts Grand Prix earlier this year and enjoyed a fine run to the semi-finals of last week’s Hungarian Darts Trophy.

Gilding, meanwhile, is a two-time European Tour finalist and has reached a trio of quarter-finals on the European Tour in 2026.

Gary Anderson makes a swift return to action following last week’s heavy defeat in the final of the Hungarian Darts Trophy as he bids to bolster his European Championship qualification hopes by overcoming his recent World Cup partner Cameron Menzies.

Wessel Nijman, twice a European Tour event winner this season, aims to bounce back from last week’s disappointing defeat to Dave Chisnall when he comes up against three-time European Tour event winner Martin Schindler.

Chris Dobey, whose only European Tour final appearance remarkably came back in 2019, faces a resurgent Keane Barry – who dumped out Cross in Friday’s opener and reached the Last 16 in Budapest.

Four-time European Tour finalist Danny Noppert faces a formidable opener against Dutch compatriot Kevin Doets – who averaged 100.7 in seeing off Ricky Evans 6-2 in Round One.

Hungarian Darts Trophy champion Ross Smith begins his bid for back-to-back European Tour titles with a tie against Stephen Burton – who saw off Joe Cullen in the first round.

Tenth seed Ryan Searle starts out against two-time European Tour finalist Willie O’Connor – who is yet to progress beyond the Last 16 stage in 11 European Tour appearances this season.

Jermaine Wattimena, a Players Championship event winner two weeks ago, meets recent European Darts Open champion Krzysztof Ratajski.

All eyes will be on world number one Luke Littler as he marks his return to European Tour action with a showdown against Niko Springer in the evening session.

Littler kick-started his run to a second successive World Matchplay title with victory over Springer in Blackpool in July and is gearing up for just a third Euro Tour outing of the year, having claimed the Poland Darts Open title before losing in the Third Round of the Baltic Sea Darts Open.

Springer made a blistering start on Friday by whitewashing Slovakia’s Martin Homola in little over nine minutes with an average of 102.5.

World number two Luke Humphries looks to bounce back from last week’s disappointing defeat to Dirk van Duijvenbode in Budapest when he takes on three-time Women’s World Champion Beau Greaves.

Humphries defeated Greaves in this year’s UK Open and will be poised for another epic battle after the youngster overcame Daryl Gurney to become the first female to win a match on the European Tour last night.

Michael van Gerwen launches his quest for a maiden Czech Open title when he faces methodical Belgian Mario Vandenbogaerde – who took advantage of a woefully out of sorts Van Duijvenbode on Friday.

Sixth seed Gerwyn Price makes only his fourth European Tour outing of the season when he steps up to face Callan Rydz – who thrashed Cristo Reyes 6-1 in the opening round.

Austrian Open champion Josh Rock comes up against Baltic Sea Darts Open finalist Ryan Joyce, while reigning European Champion Gian van Veen resumes his bid for an elusive maiden European Tour title with a tie against Sweden’s Jeffrey De Graaf.

Stephen Bunting, who currently sits outside of the provisional European Championship spots, looks to bolster his qualification hopes with a vital win over Luke Woodhouse – who averaged 104.3 in dispatching Connor Scutt in Round One.

Three-time European Tour event winner Jonny Clayton, meanwhile, starts out against Australian number one Damon Heta – who enjoyed a solid win over home favourite Karel Sedlacek to kick off his campaign.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with second round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
